How on earth can I save my feet?

Sorry to post here, extremely boring question I need answers for! I have recently bought a dog... lots of walking and no matter what I do or try my feet are covered in blisters. It's making it impossible to carry on! I wear sports socks and use plasters with shoes I've worn in... how do I stop this? I'm getting so limited on shoes I can wear. Thank you😀

My brother did a very major walk and swore by 1000 mile socks, too.

Some walkers and runners rub certain parts of their feet with surgical spirit. I did this when I went hiking with school but it didn't help me.

I walk miles in Skechers and in certain types of Crocs because I like walking in the woods (no dog) as well as around town, and like the fact that I can wash them down when they get muddy etc. They do need to fit properly and have the right socks though. Agree that taping problem areas (eg on me it's always my little toes, and a particular point above my heels, even if the shoes fit, although this happens rarely with the right shoes and socks now). If you are going on more challenging terrain, or are prone to turning your ankles, get some walking trainer-boots that support your ankles. My partner has a pair of these (again from Skechers) but there are a good few brands out there.

I’m wondering what you have worn previously when you’ve walked a lot? Is there something you were alright with previously compared to what you’re wearing now? And also wondering if you are wearing shoes that are too big.

You need decent footwear if you're walking a lot. Waterproof walking trainers or walking boots are best in the winter months. Any decent walking trainers will do in the summer/dry weather. I find Skechers are good for my feet personally.

Good quality pair of walking shoes/boots & some twin skin socks - the 'Hilly' brand is good. Game changer!

Thanks everyone for the amazing advice sorry for starting the thread and not engaging much after, it's been a very busy week! My feet are healed and I've ordered sketchers on payday which haven't yet arrived! Other half has done a majority of the walking and I've stuck to flip flops for walking round the corner with the dog to see my sister in law etc so all good there! I'm going to try literally everything on this thread and can confirm Wilkos version of compeed is cheap and incredible! Thanks again everyone
