Tim Hortons

I've moved to an area which has a Tim Hortons. I've tried it twice and on both occasions I've really not enjoyed it, nor do I see the fuss with it. The Tim bits weren't even that nice. The hot chocolate was so sickly too!

AIBU in thinking it's overhyped rubbish or am I missing something?

They cannot make tea which is a sin in my world. Ordered a milkshake for DD and tea for me. Go to sit down - no milk.

Go to ask for milk. Delay while staff stand around looking puzzled. Tell me to sit down & they'll bring it.

They finally bring over a whole cup of warm milk. Bless them. I haven't been back.

I've had that exact same experience in the US & Canada!

Which I am not unused to outside the UK but in GB?

I lived in Canada for several years and have family there. Most Canadians think Timmy's is crap, but they have a fondness for it. The coffee is vile. But their food and coffee is cheap (in Canada anyway), and their stores are everywhere. People do go wild over Timbits but I never got it. I didn't understand the excitement about it coming to the UK and suspected people would be disappointed.

Gregg's is far superior if you're looking for a cheap bakery chain. And UK supermarkets do great quality, cheap bakery items - your average Canadian supermarkets do not, which is maybe why it has been so successful out there.

In Canada, specifically the GTA, one cannot get in the car to go ANYWHERE without a Timmies. The chili is ok, timibits are good and they come in a cute box. Double double is double cream and sugar, crazy fattening. Ahhhh, I miss Toronto. I have had it in Glasgow and it was a bit shit.
