To ask how to reassure DD about this?

DD’s favourite soft toy is a Minnie Mouse from Walt Disney world in Florida.
all day she’s been upset and complaining that Minnie is “broke”. I keep telling her that Minnie isn’t broke and I’ve even checked Minnie just to be sure! But she’s literally in floods of tears saying Minnie is broke! What do I do?!

If she thinks things always get broken by sitting on them can you demonstrate that that isn't always the case and sit on a few of your own things to show her? This sort of logic is what I would use with my son with ASD rather than making up fake stories about it getting better/pretending to sew it up or whatever. He wouldn't fall for fake explanations.

Also I wouldn't behave around her as if this is somehow your fault as it isn't, be gentle but be honest. How is her comprehension? - if she will understand I would tell her that she is very worried about Minnie so her brain is playing a bit of a trick on her and Minnie's ear feels different and loose to her because she is feeling so anxious and worried about it. I think she might be projecting her fears onto Minnie and I explained some issues caused by anxiety to my son in this way.

I think the DD believes that If someone sits on something it breaks - even when it doesn’t. So in her mind Minnie is broken even when it’s not. Trying to repair it in anyway won’t work either as the DD wants Minnie not to have been sat at all. She wants Minnie the way she has always been.

I'm autistic and I would think what @NanaNelly suggests.
What would happen if you ask your DD what Minnie thinks would help?
