I said I dont care what she thinks or her opinions on anything. But I do care when I see someone behaving so irresponsibly and with a complete lack of regard for the well being of their children. Yes it is her body, her baby etc, but she is surely not free to do whatever she wants when it is negatively effecting her child/children. Is it then, ok what with it being her body/baby for her to pump her body full of Class A drugs while pregnant? I dont read her columns or value her opinions in any way but I do feel sad for her kids.

Think a lot of people probably feel the same and that is why these threads keep popping up.

NoBiggy · 22/01/2008 13:54

They should do a reality show for these types of celebrities. Shut them all in a small house together and film them for, oh, let's say 4 or 5 months?

The twist is, the cameras are fakes and we're free of them for the duration.

I suggest Katona, Goody, that Chanelle one, the Cheeky Girls, Doherty can go in too, if the courts can spare him. I'll add to my little list as more irritate me

TheBlonde · 22/01/2008 13:57

it's not exactly great press for the tattoo parlour

bohemianbint · 22/01/2008 13:58

I'm sure it will look marvellous in about 6 months time.

EHM · 22/01/2008 14:05

its the children I feel so for

LynetteScavo · 22/01/2008 14:12

I'm loosing sympathy for her fast...I thought she spentmore than she earned last year... all 1.5 million. It seems Max Clifford and her therapists are the only people looking after her.

I think it's easy for those of us with supportive parents and decent partners to criticise her, though.

MumtoCharlotteMay · 22/01/2008 14:28

Think she's in the same league as Jage Goody to be perfectly honest. Think they are both vile.

They are doing a reality show on Kerry Katona thats one i mustn't must avoid like the plague, from the trailer i saw she was in the bath threatening to show her t.....ts i think!!

scatterbrain · 22/01/2008 14:43

At the risk of getting lynched - I quite like Kerry !

I think Bryan treated her apallingly and she went a bit off the rails - but her girls seem lovely and happy and well cared for. Her choice in men isn't the same as mine - BUT - each to their own really !

She has had a lot of sadness in her life and is still very young - I feel a bit sorry for her really - and of course just to say that you shouldn't believe everything you read in the press !

scottishmummy · 22/01/2008 14:51

BUT Kerry generates most of her own self Publicity by constantly bleating and bellyaching to the press as i have said before yes she has had difficulties in her upbringing (as have many others too)but they dont resort to illicit drug use, tattos when pg, or the constant need for publicity

colditz · 22/01/2008 14:52

It doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things and I'm afraid I don't care.

scatterbrain · 22/01/2008 14:55

Nor me - it's her life - up to her what she does with it !

I just don't like people coming on and saying she's VILE - just from reading gutter press articles - if you knew the woman personally fine - but you don't - you just think you know the person from all the press articles.

Even if you knew her I think saying she's vile is unneccessary. And casting aspersions on her parenting too - do you REALLY know that she is a bad mum ?

Whatever - I really don't care !

Quattrocento · 22/01/2008 14:58

Okay, I have three questions:

(i) What does being pregnant have to do with having tattoos? Have they established a link between the dye and foetal development or something?

(ii) Why is it any of my business if someone chooses to do this thing to themselves

(iii) Who is Kerry Katona?

scottishmummy · 22/01/2008 15:07

risk of toxicity/ink poisoning to unborn baby

maternal skin hypersensitivity when pg can cause reactions

maternal supressed immune system means increased likliehood of impaired healing/reaction/scarring to mother

risk of acquired infectin from needles

colditz · 22/01/2008 15:09

I dyed my hair whilest pregnant and made no secret of it here.

funny how when a woman is pregnant, it's a common activity like tattooes that causes the greater uproar, far greater than someone who wishes to eat an organic brie and rocket salad for supper.

PrincessPeahead · 22/01/2008 15:13

main risk is hepatitis C
NOT the same as dyeing your hair

colditz · 22/01/2008 15:14

Ohhhh

ok, point taken.

scottishmummy · 22/01/2008 15:15

As with any type of injection technique, there is a risk of introducing infections that range from tattoo-site soreness due to skin bacteria, to the deadly infections with viruses that cause hepatitis or even HIV.

DrippingLizzie · 22/01/2008 15:18

No doubt she'll be piercing her newborn's ears. Trailer trash at its worst. Bet Bryan's wishing he never legged it

scatterbrain · 22/01/2008 15:21

Oh FGS !!!

What a bitchfest Mumnsnet has become !

auntyspan · 22/01/2008 15:24

i feel desparately sorry for her. She's being advised by money-grabbing twunts who take advantage of her vunerability and lack of intelligence.

I think we should be more compassionate, imho.

scottishmummy · 22/01/2008 15:26

Bitch?mais non KK isnt going to win good mother and role model 2008 is she. and actually as aforementioned she self promotes her gross behaviour so of course it generates comments.

scatterbrain · 22/01/2008 15:30

How do you KNOW she isn't a GOOD MOTHER ??? How dare you judge her ?? I despair !!

I also feel she is exploited - it is a shame that someone sensible isn't looking after her. Yes she is off the rails but does that necessarily mean she is a bad mother.

Compassion seems lacking today ! Empathy too !!

DrippingLizzie · 22/01/2008 15:31

Totally agree, ScotsMum...if she wants to whore herself round the media like some sad old circus act she's going to attract a bit of negative feedback.

And bitchfest, how quaint...I haven't heard that term since my Jackie-reading 6th form days
