To have another baby - climate crisis

We're about to start trying for a second baby, but I keep reading the news and there is so much going on. With climate crisis and war, and wages and cost of living, I cannot guarantee the world I'm bringing kids into. I don't have any regrets about dd1, but really wondering if we should do it again ...
What if the climate crisis means they'll have a really shit life?

YABU - have another baby if you want to
YANBU - it is unethical and stoking the fire and a bad situation to bring an innocent life into

I'm currently pregnant with my second and I worry a lot about what life will be like for my children. BUT rather than feeling helpless, it's inspired me to do everything I can do to prevent the worst. I see lots of people talking about zero waste and recycling, but there's lots of other things that you can do to make a difference like

  • switching to a renewable energy tariff with your energy provider or if you can afford to replacing gas central heating with a heat pump;
  • walk/cycle or take public transport if you can instead of driving;
  • use Ecosia instead of Google (they use profit from advertising to plant trees);
  • move your money to an ethical bank or building society and tell the bank you're leaving because they invest in environmentally damaging industries like palm oil or fossil fuels;
  • buy clothes 2nd hand or from ethical brands (GOTS, or organic cotton, etc);
  • buy organic and seasonal fruit and veg;
  • contact your local Councillors and MP to ask them about how they're planning to meet the pledges to make UK carbon neutral by 2050 and about what they're doing in your local area for the environment and to build resilience against climate change;
  • get involved in local conservation projects (in my area there's a social enterprise aiming to plant 18 million trees over the next 10 years, they're always looking for volunteers to help and it's such a mood boost to meet other people who care).
