I have a great mum and dad who are so involved with the kids, however FIL and MIL do not seem interested at all, we have just got back from holiday and they haven’t even called them to see if they had a nice time, they seem to make excuses up or ring us in a morning to tell us they are doing something so we don’t come round, maybe I am expecting too much but I just find it all a bit odd.

My own mother and bee partner are extremely involved with my 7 month dd. First grandchild for them, they live very nearby so pop in and help out around the house etc as well. They'll have her for sleepovers and take her every Tuesday so DP and I can attend our mutual hobby

FIL does what he can, he's dealing with a lot with the rest of the family
MIL adores dd but she's the fourth granddaughter for her. She's also living life out the country just now so isn't around. She'll be back soon and we have to drop everything to suit her schedule while she's back and she crams in seeing everyone. Couldn't rely on PILs for childcare - as they are busy themselves but also never around so I wouldn't be comfortable leaving dd with them right now

My own dad is 40 mins drive away. He calls often but never comes to visit as its 'too far' 🙃
