One of the girls I work with recently slept with a man. He was married, on a dating site. She didn't know he was married until they finished and he asked her to keep quiet. He told her he loved his wife but sex with her is boring "same shit different day".... his wife has no idea but he does this a lot.

My colleague is a sweet girl who is single and horrified at the idea this man is married.

Don't sleep with losers. She should pick better, or her attractions are flawed.

Peter is right, or partly right at least. There is a "top xx%" of men cleaning up. Height alone can be a major disadvantage. Men under 6 foot tall are generally unlikely to be chosen. That's before all of the other blurb. Now of course not the women of Mumsnet who would never do such a thing as discriminate based on height, and there's definitely not threads like 'AIBU in refusing to date short men'. A couple of recent podcasts from Triggernometry had experts on discussing dating apps, sex culture and incels. The data from studies was discussed at length.

So maybe if his post was less misogynistic it would have made his point a little better. But fuck it, what do I know? Just call him an incel cunt and ignore him 🤷

@Wilkolampshade , that screenshot of 'dating app data' is interesting & directly opposite my observation as a 50+ woman when I dabbled in OLD. On the (paid) app I was on, I sorted by 'last seen' and counted the number of men of my age in my area, who had been active within the last month - to rule our 'dormant profiles' which of course stay there indefinitely even after you've stopped subscribing.

Then I ran a 'dummy search' as a man my age seeking a woman - and found the ratio was 2 women to 1 man, and that was before taking into account the fact that many men my age had their age filter set to rule out anyone older than mid 40s, so I wouldn't have popped up on their search.

That contributed to me deciding to leave OLD behind forever. I haven't been tempted again since....

I agree - maybe we need to de-couple sex and marriage more in this day and age, and stop 'condemning' people. Each to their own, I know a few marriages that would be a lot less stressful for both parties if they just acknowledged different sexual needs.

What hilarious about incels is that they dont seem to realise that ple ty of objectively unbeautiful men have girlfriends and wives and it's because they are nice people. Incels bang on about the "top 10%" of men thinking that if the top 10% didn't exist then women would want to shag them instead...nah mate, still wouldn't touch you. I lost my faith in men somewhere in my teenage years.
Good side is that I haven’t been dissapointed by men in years and years!
