Evian is the best bottled water

Thishouseisazoo · 12/08/2022 12:36

Everyone I know disagrees but Evian water just tastes different and better to water from other brands and tap water. It’s just the best isn’t it?! Will drink tap water and other brands of bottled water but don’t like them as much

I like Highland Spring best (no, I don't work for them). Many brands taste too salty in comparison.

What's with all the eco shaming? Some people enjoy a good bottle of wine. I enjoy a chilled glass of mineral water. My favourite brand is British made, so fewer travel miles than most wine consumed in this country. The bottle is made from recycled plastic and goes for recycling again after use.

I hate sparkling water, it tastes of flavourless fizz

PeekAtYou · 12/08/2022 13:54

Morrisons own brand water is labelled as Yorkshire Vale and tastes better than Evian and is a fraction of the cost.

ScreamingInfidelities · 12/08/2022 13:55

Nah, smart water is the nicest

SunnySwirl · 12/08/2022 13:55

Evian tastes chalky. Yuck.

Much prefer Volvic or Buxton. What happened to Ty Nant I wonder.

ClocksGoingBackwards · 12/08/2022 13:56

YABU Highland Spring is much nicer.

Yorkshire Water from the tap is unbeatable, but sadly exclusive (and increasingly out of stock).

Lancashire water is good too, and supply seems pretty consistent.
Best bottled water is obtained by filling a bottle of water from our own tap.

PeekAtYou · 12/08/2022 13:56

I wonder how many bottle shamers took a plane on holiday this summer?

I drink the cheapest bottled water but my kids think Smart water is miles better than any other brand.

Sellie555 · 12/08/2022 13:57

my Cousin lives in Evian and we go to the spring and taste it straight from the mountains🥰

Indeed, or as a PP mentioned drink alcohol or wouldn't think twice about buying a can or bottle of soft drinks. I don't drink alcohol, occasionally a Diet Coke, rest of the time Evian.

MrsTxx · 12/08/2022 13:59

YANBU. Evian is superior bottled water. I was just thinking this earlier on

LookItsMeAgain · 12/08/2022 13:59

I have to add something to this conversation (and I genuinely don't work for this company) but when I was abroad recently I saw a retailer for Waterdrop. They are little effervescent cubes that you can drop into your tap or bottled water and they add a little flavour to the water. They have 5 calories per cube and they are just gorgeous.

They add just a little lift to a drink that otherwise would be completely tasteless and meh.

Since getting home, I've been drinking a lot more water because of this product.

It might be worth exploring if you find plain water just isn't enough and squash/cordial is too much.

TreePorcupine · 12/08/2022 14:01

Evian certainly tastes different but in a good way from my perspective.

If I'm buying bottled water then I like to treat myself to San Pellegrino and prefer to drink it at room temperature rather than chilled. It's just so refreshing.

I have to agree that from the tap Yorkshire Water is excellent and it doesn't have limescale.

Yes...totally the same. 🙄

I assume they only drink tap & don't eat any imported food or drink. Don't own a car or fly ever.

BobMortimersPocketMeat · 12/08/2022 14:10

I live in a very hard water area, and love the taste of our limey tap water. Evian tastes to me like it has softening salts in it. And the minerals in it upset my stomach.

vivainsomnia · 12/08/2022 14:10

It's actually my most disliked one! I go with Volvic

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 12/08/2022 14:16

Get a water filter. Honestly can’t taste the difference between that and bottled mineral water.
If I do buy it (what else do you put in aperol spritz?) then it’s san pellergrino.

PolarBearLookoutGuard · 12/08/2022 14:17

It is my last favourite. Takes slightly salty to me, not fresh.

PolarBearLookoutGuard · 12/08/2022 14:21

Although I just drink tap and have a soda stream for fizzy. Soda stream has been life changing. I spent so much on soda water before. And so much less plastic waste. I LOVE soda stream.

OakAshElm · 12/08/2022 14:29

I live in the mountains above Evian so essentially drink it out of the tap.

Interestingly this area is currently level 4/4 drought. Some villages are out of tap water and having to tank it in from Geneva. Evian still sending bottles all over the world though!

If you love Evian so much, you should come and visit! Beautiful part of the world.

McT123 · 12/08/2022 14:36

For all the Smart Water fans (produced by Coca Cola):

"Smartwater is manufactured by distillation. This process removes most inorganic impurities, such as naturally dissolved minerals, but may let low boiling-point organic matter through. Afterwards, certain mineral electrolytes such as potassium, calcium and magnesium are added back. There are no known benefits of distilling potable water combined with the readdition of ingredients lost in this process." Source: Wikipedia

Wrong I'm afraid OP, sorry. Badoit is the best. Obviously that's for a treat and I would drink tap water mainly, before everyone piles on.

Ilovetea33 · 12/08/2022 14:45

Spa Reine is from Belgium, not Holland.

Purpleavocado · 12/08/2022 14:48

I use a Brita jug at home but if I was out, and I bought a bottle of water, I'd always chose Evian, it is nice and 'soft'.
