To think he could have just written 'I'm an arse'?

For this dating bio:

'I'm a strong confident alpha male looking for a relationship with a kind feminine nurturing woman that looks for her man to lead'

Or do some people actually go for that kind of intro?

It's got my skin crawling!

Timely, I just saw this shared on another group.

Fucking hell. He sounds like he needs a visit from the police.

Why are all these men who are convinced they are a great catch actually as ugly as sin and lacking any kind of socialisation?

Sorry, that was in response to Oysterbabe's screenshot

Dear lord, what a pillock! At least him trumpeting his expectations means you can avoid him like the plague.

Some women will love it. I could’ve cried when I read that other thread on here recently and realised just how many women really really really obsess about keeping their houses and children Instagram perfect. There are a lot of women out there who would be a perfect match for this caveman.

I can think of at least one friend who would respond positively to this, sadly. Do you remember that Facebook thing a few years back - photo of a dress; underwear; shoes; bag etc with a note instructing the recipient to put it all on and then and meet them at a named fancy restaurant? Most of us thought that was probably 'Sleeping With The Enemy' territory, and at the very least - the guy was an absolute wanker. But my friend thought it was incredibly impressive and romantic. Bleurgh.

This guys interests are the gym, tea, and documentaries. He says he a homebody and likes to spend nights on the sofa watching a good box set.

Restaurants probably aren't even a possibility. Or picking the box set.

Definitely an arse. I used to love dating profiles where they were really blatantly obvious they were an arse. Enabled complete avoidance! The ones where they hid it till you were a few dates in were annoying and time wasting.

SequinsandStilettos · 10/08/2022 11:54

God, he wants a surrendered girlfriend/sub/teasmaid.

Wouldloveanother · 10/08/2022 11:56

yeah it’s a cringey/telling/grim bio, but seriously does anyone actually use the word ‘arse’ like that in real life?!

Lots of people do! Is it really that unusual? I had no idea!

I’ve only ever seen it written on here. About men.

Yes, all the time?

Tothemoonandbackx · 10/08/2022 12:13

Genuinely once read one of those ads in the back of the paper (when online dating didn't exist) you know the ones where they condense everything down i.e Dave 43 WLTM F, under 30. I own OHAC etc......well, this one bloke didn't really care about that. He wrote something along the lines of. Dave 43, not very attractive but would love to meet and Angelina Jolie lookalike, so I can show off to my friends, must own OHAC as I haven't got either. I sincerely hoped after reading that, that it was a complete and utterly wind up 😂😂😂😂

Vikinga · 10/08/2022 12:14

I wonder why he's single? Anyway, it's great when they put their own warning labels.

gannett · 10/08/2022 12:18

I find that bio repellent but vast swathes of MN are absolute sticklers for their men to be very traditionally masculine. Look at any thread about men who aren't high earners, don't drive, are "mummy's boys", are bisexual, have mental health issues or who are even just short, and the consensus will be that they're disgusting and give everyone the ick.

So obviously what a lot of MNers want is exactly what that bio says. It just says the quiet bit out loud.

BadNomad · 10/08/2022 13:41

At least he's honest about who he is and what he wants. It's more annoying to waste time on the ones who hide that attitude behind nice words and a fake initial personality.

emerald7 · 10/08/2022 13:42

Wow Confused

GettingStuffed · 10/08/2022 13:47
