I loved Cristina!
I also love Amelia, why do so many people hate her?!
I get the Owen and Teddy hate though

I absolutely loved it years ago. I came to it quite late so was sucked in to the first 10-12 seasons.

I can pinpoint the exact moment I gave up on it.

I was watching the newest season and Jackson got out of the car into The Fog. And disappeared. Then the episode ended. I realised I didn't care what happened to him. I did watch the next episode, but only out of mild curiosity to see what horrors had befallen him. Never watched it again after that.

Sometimes they need to let things go on a high.

I also now refuse to watch on principle about reading how Karev left. There's no way, absolutely no way he'd have done that to Jo. It makes no sense.

They've had no issues killing off characters before, they could have killed him off screen like they did George (unrecognisable George doesn't count, anyone could come in as a stand in for that bit) and written him out that way if the actor walked abruptly.

But the actor was suffering mental health issues -killing him seems harsh if he may have recovered and changed mind.

Loving private practice season 4 right now.

This really made me laugh :)

Oh no will The Fog eat Jackson

As demonstrated in my username I love Grey's 😁but I agree with everyone- it died when Cristina and Alex left. I also thought Arizona's exit was rather nonsensical. The only characters that keep me watching now are Jo, Link and Amelia (so annoyed she left lovely Link for that Kai) I couldn't care less about any of the interns/residents.

Something I always liked about Grey's was that the progressive political messages were nicely woven into the story and made sense. Now it's just Richard gets told off for calling a patient by her biological sex, Link gets told off for suggesting a patient's weight could be affecting her joints. I couldn't believe that instance actually, when there was such a great episode tackling fatphobia literally in season one!! (the tumour lady who Alex insulted and died)

It's had a good run but can Owen slip the metaphorical horse some pills to end the beatings so the show can die peacefully...

To be fair I have read The Fog by James Herbert, so that may have influenced things.

Grey's got me through endless tedious sessions on the treadmill in lockdown. But then I suddenly stopped watching just before the actual Covid story lines and never went back. I honestly can't believe how invested in it I was now.

Some characters (Owen, Teddy, Amelia) just irritated me to hell.

ImAvingOops · 10/08/2022 10:23

Teddy was better in the earlier seasons, when she was married to Henry and was Christina's head of department. Never really understood the point o Amelia, she adds no interest really but isn't annoying.
I miss Callie and Arizona and Alex

I liked Amelia and Owen and when she had the tumour storyline but her character has gone downhill since. I recently watched private practice, I didn't realise how much of her past history featured in it. It also explained Addisons abrupt departure from greys!

Why did Addison leave greys?

burnoutbabe · 12/08/2022 09:34

End of season 3 I think? To set up her own practice with her med school friends -private practice!

Pp is far more issues based, much less soapy drama (though plenty of that)
More sexy too. Adult themes!
