Our neighbours finally asked the other day who Marvin was. They thought we had another pet or child as they over heard us walking around the garden talking about Marvin and him missing stuff!

Margery. She has huge googly eyes and our Labrador is terrified of her.

Ours has a name and a personality.

He is 'the lazy bugger' and keeps hiding under furniture and pretending he's stuck so he doesn't have to do any work.

Our first one was called Dobby (HP house elf) and since he died, his successor is Robbie Dobson (she/her).

Mine is called Prosser, because of Oofy (=Eufy) Prosser in PG Wodehouse. He's quite needy, though.

Our robot Hoover arrived yesterday and this thread has inspired me and I’ve spent a long time thinking it over and decided “Robot Downey Jr”. Pretty pleased with myself…have also come up with other appliance celebrity names in the process:

Stephen Dry for the dryer
Tom Snooze for alarm clock
Russell Mow for lawnmower (if we ever had one)
Jennifer Launders for washing machine

DH liked Elon Dust for the Hoover but I think RDJ is better

Strangely we have to for the cats called Robert Downey Jr - god knows why.
