Could I be pregnant or have I lost the plot?

So, I’ve been a bit daft. Had a one night stand on July 19th. It was day 24 of my cycle and I was confident I had ovulated much earlier (on my usual day 14) as I’d had the ovuoation discharge then. So we had unprotected sex (I know, I know! I was drunk). Didn’t seem possible to me that I’d get PG from this. I also have endometriosis and both of my aunts who had it never concieved naturally, so I have a complex that I’ll never get pregnant (I feel maybe on a subconscious level that’s why I make stupid sexual decisions, because I don’t want to pass up a chance to get pregnant when my chances are so low).

Period came on cycle day 28, perfectly as expected. And absolutely normal and standard. A bit more painful than usual though (despite my endometriosis my periods are absolutely textbook usually, but there was one day I was in agony. I only have an endometriosis diagnosis because they saw it when I had my appendix out. I don’t get symptoms.). As all seemed fine didn’t think anything of it.

I’m now 2 days off my period. Last night my friend came over for drinks and bought mojito cans which I usually like. I took one sip and it just tasted WRONG. Like dishwater. It wasn’t a complete aversion though, I was still able to force it down as I couldn’t be bothered with the “OMG you must be pregnant!” from my friend.

This morning laying in bed half asleep I was swiftly fully awoken by an electric shock pain in one of my boobs. During my 2 hour lie-in this happened a good few times, in both breasts. When I got up it subsided. This NEVER happens to me. My breasts literally never get sore at any point in my cycle. It’s even weirder that it’s just after my period which is meant to be a calmer time hormonally. My boobs have been feeling heavy all day at work as well, to the point I felt like I was leaning forward from the weight.

I do remember my mum telling me donkeys years ago that her mum had ‘periods’ during her first pregnancy.

I’m wondering if anybody has had a similar experience and been PG or had it be something else, and what was it? I’m reluctant to go to the doctors as I’m currently living in Canada and am worried about costs.

Any updates OP?

The thought of drinking alcohol in early pregnancy repulsed me and everyone told me that I was pregnant and they were right 🙈
It's like your body rejects what it shouldn't have!

Helpyou · 04/08/2022 20:35

I hope you get to find out either way soon op

Icouldabeenalawyer · 04/08/2022 21:09

Yep, alcohol tasted like vinegar in my pgs.

lOPAS · 04/08/2022 21:19

Very possible OP.

LittleBear21 · 04/08/2022 22:20

Do take the test as you have planned. But also consider how you will feel about the result either way. You may need some in real life support, so consider who you could ask to be with you/available for a call.

I never understand these threads. Just take a damn test? It's highly unlikely you're pregnant anyway. You know when you ovulated and you had a normal period. The other signs could be from your brain seeing as your friend said you were pregnant.

20viona · 05/08/2022 06:28

Do a bloody test woman!

Quia · 06/08/2022 08:46

It's two days since OP was driving to a city where she could buy pregnancy tests. I'm guessing they were negative.

Sunnyqueen · 06/08/2022 08:52

You need to take a test, that's the only way to know. But I will say when I was pg there's no way I could have forced down something that felt wrong, food or drink just couldn't do it both pregnancies.

BabyDreamers · 06/08/2022 08:56

My first symptom of covid was alcohol tasting off and awful muscle cramps to the extent I thought I had broken bones 🙈🙈

mycatisannoying · 06/08/2022 09:01

Hope the OP is ok, and that she comes back to us!

MsBallen · 06/08/2022 10:31

Hope you are ok op. Sometimes these threads aren't helpful as i think many posters often share unusual good luck stories based on what the op wants a d that usually isn't the case.

I feel like the op deep down really wanted to be pregnant and that may not be what the test showed which can be deeply upsetting especially after reading lots of replies saying oh I had them exact symptoms and was pregnant.
