Just so I can guage my reply, is this a competitive undereating thread or a competitive frugal thread?

Comedycook · 01/08/2022 19:26

I had a week where I was incredibly busy and under a lot of stress....won't bore you all with the details! Anyway, I pretty much lived on coffee for the week....by the end of the week I felt incredibly weak and ill. Had a big meal and a glass of water and instantly felt better.

Flavabobble · 01/08/2022 19:29

Add a couple of cigarettes and you'd have a perfectly balanced lunch too.

If @hamustro is being sarcastic please accept my grovelling apology- I've been here long enough to think it was very possibly serious 😬

Did you have a massive salad with it?

Surely nobody could eat that much.

With the added bonus that you can then swan about on Style and Beauty asking if you look sufficiently French.

No worries! My real stance is that two sweet coffees is definitely not equal to a meal, though if I've dunked a whole packet of biscuits it might keep the hunger pangs at bay for half hour or so😀

I know IABU putting sugar in coffee 😁 Idk though.

So all of you eat breakfast then?

Yup but not when I was younger though.
I don't take sugar in coffee though 😁

Mindthegob · 01/08/2022 19:42

It’s a competitive frugal thread- I am skint. Had a pot noodle and bowl of pasta with pesto yesterday- under £1!

My guess is undereating 🤷‍♀️

titchy · 01/08/2022 19:43

If you want / need to be competitively frugal buy veg. Same price and calories as a pot noodle and so much healthier.

Guessed wrong!
That sucks.
Any food banks near you?
Have you kids to feed too?

CrossStitch87 · 01/08/2022 19:44

I have coffee for breakfast. Keeps me full enough till midday.

Comedycook · 01/08/2022 19:44

I don't often eat breakfast. I just have a coffee most days..not for financial reasons though.

Potatoes, pasta, a loaf of value bread and value jam will all be better than just a coffee.

I hope things improve for you

Skinnermarink · 01/08/2022 19:45

Nah, I ate half a McMuffin on a hangover in 2017 and I’m still full now.

I find carbs are cheaper than veg. Rice, pasta, potatoes, bread

Yes, I eat breakfast. I don't like sugar in my coffee though.

According to your theory, instead of eating breakfast or drinking sweet coffee, can I can just eat two spoonfuls of sugar?

FourTeaFallOut · 01/08/2022 19:47

You see, you can never tell!

Op, no - two coffees isn't the equivalent of a breakfast, although you can fool your body by depressing the appetite with coffee if you eat like that for too long, with pot noodle for lunch you will begin to see nutritional deficiencies in the long run.

The sugar certainly keeps you going but you also need the coffee for energy. One without the other won’t work.

Are you 30p Lee op?

SarahSissions · 01/08/2022 19:48

No nutritional value and bloody depressing.
