Buying my poor 8 year old son a new pair of shoes and 14 new pairs of socks. I hadn't noticed the big hole on the underside of his shoe until today (he also hadn't complained!) and couldn't remember last time I bought new socks! Poor love!

Did my work expenses. I don't like doing it and tend to put it off but - I did it.

Then I read @devildeepbluesea 's impressive post and wished I was like that. Well done @devildeepbluesea!

I also washed the bedding and didn't leave replacing the duvet cover till the last minute (or until husband got to it first). Had to have a little lie down after the exertion though.

Received a letter for a medical appointment for DD 6 months down the line and added it immediately to the calendar app on my phone so I’m not scrambling for the letter closer to the time. Some clothes I ordered online arrived, I took them out of their packaging, tried them on and removed labels etc and hung them up, instead of just dumping them in their packaging onto the spare bed as I used to. We decluttered our spare room at the weekend and I’m loving actively keeping it tidy instead of using it as a dumping ground for everything.

Journalling - just a few minutes spent getting my good and not so good thoughts down on the page and ....poof! gone, out of my head, so freeing!

Also taking a couple minutes first thing to write down what I'd like to achieve today - a little do-to-list - and then the satisfaction of checking them off

Any tips on how to do this?

Not sure it’s a productivity hack but we go on holiday tomorrow and I’ve just deleted my email and Slack apps from my phone.
I’m usually so guilty of checking them while I’m away and welcoming messages from my team but I’ve told them all that for once I am totally switching off and they should only contact me if it’s something that my boss can’t help them with.
I can’t wait to attempt to relax and not think about work!

Collected my sons suitcase. I was the last one but at least I got it and ticked it off the to-do list

Welshrarebitontoast · 27/07/2022 21:46

Actually looked at and downloaded my pension statements.

Organised mortgage overpayment direct debit after thinking about doing it for the last five years. Adulting is wild 😄

Deleted WhatsApp. Have probably saved hours of being hassled already today! I felt more relaxed within half an hour :)

Will that not impact your work?

I put a squirt of bleach in an old spray bottle and top it up with water. It lives under the sink. When the sink/washing up bowl looks manky, it gets a quick spray all over. Takes seconds. Always a nice clean sink, uses hardly any bleach.

Xiaoxiong · 28/07/2022 23:56

I just Kondoed my clothes!! Took hours but worth it.

MILLYmo0se · 29/07/2022 08:12

Oh Kondoing is a major thing! Well worth it but a mammoth task when you are in the thick of it.
Im in the opposite stage and seem to be stuck in 'refusal to adult' mode 🙄, have 2 emails i really need to send and i just cant summon the energy or motivation for them nevermind anything else. Following for tips and motivation!!!

@Mosaic123 I've just changed my Amazon Prime membership too, thanks for that.
