Got straight out of bed at 6am made a coffee and took the dog for an hours walk - and enjoyed it a- I usually stay in bed till the last possible moment and then begrudgingly do the morning walk
i also sent a meter reading to my gas and electric and cancelled my direct debit as I’m in credit as they wanted a stupid amount of money per month and despite me pointing out I’ve gone from a 4 person household to a 1 in the past few months they still wanted to charge me on past use

Massiveaggressive · 27/07/2022 17:38

I also turned the lights off during the day as I put them on out of habit…

Minniem2020 · 27/07/2022 17:50

I've actually just looked at mine, thought that really needs a clean, then closed it again.

Minniem2020 · 27/07/2022 17:51

Oops that was meant to reply to @Thelnebriati

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 27/07/2022 17:51

When the cat had his jabs today I booked next year's at the same time as paying.

Did a huge declutter of ds toys, all our clothing. Also sorted out the calender for the next few months.

That’s not a tiny win! That’s a monumental win! Well done you

EllenWaiteourkid · 27/07/2022 17:53

I have done the filters, one was fine strangely so I suspect that the last time I gave DH the job he only did the roller ball and didn't know about the other one, the other was gopping.

DogsAndGin · 27/07/2022 17:54

I finally threw all the dog’s knickers away as she’s been spayed.

Oh well done! If I get up that early I’ll have had three breakfasts by lunchtime and probably need a nap!

The highest shelf inside the fridge door - for 7 years - useless! - too bloody close to the top of the door. Nearly everything in the world is just a bit too tall and stops the door shutting. (no option to adjust)

UNTIL TODAY!

Today i discover that all this time DHs little Actimel bottles fit up there with perfect precision. AND they look nice up there. Win win 😁

EllenWaiteourkid · 27/07/2022 18:04

@Minniem2020

I looked at mine, closed the drawer and then my conscience drove me back. Grin

Memo to self, the next time @Thelnebriati does something virtuous ignore her. Grin

Lovelydovey · 27/07/2022 18:06

Was packed by 5pm for our holiday - and I’d watered the garden!

and I used all the contents of the fridge including making a cake and freezing it, and making everyone omelettes to use up 12 eggs rather than wasting them.

Snowpaw · 27/07/2022 18:07

Remembered to put jacket potatoes in the oven mid afternoon so teatime for hungry three year old was very easy and minimal stress.

Simonjt · 27/07/2022 18:11

We’re on holiday and flying home tomorrow, we have a washing machine in our villa. Everything we won’t be wearing tomorrow is washed, dried and packed in our suitcases.

Lemonyfuckit · 27/07/2022 14:56

DH and I have a shared 'note' on our phones for the weekly meal plan and a regular Sat am Ocado delivery - so every Fri before the afternoon cut off we do the meal plan and finalise the shop, then that's it sorted for the coming week.

@Lemonyfuckit is there an app you use for this?

EllenWaiteourkid · 27/07/2022 18:16

@SimonJT now that is a win.

I have just put the washing machine powder drawer in very hot sink and now it is in the dishwasher, DH thinks I am tapped. Grin

devildeepbluesea · 27/07/2022 18:26

I have set up a spreadsheet to track money with several worksheets: current account, spending budget, credit card spends etc. plus a look ahead to September budget and cc payments.

I can now confidently predict how much cash I can put into savings at the end of this month, next month and September. I feel so empowered!

Skethylita · 27/07/2022 18:28

It is indeed a tiny one but I had an unused large picture frame and some empty moving boxes, so I removed the glass from the frame, backed it with the thick cardboard from one of the boxes, covered it in PVA and felt and hung it on a wall as my new, shiny pin board for important forms and reminders.

Lemonyfuckit · 27/07/2022 18:44

We just use the 'Notes' app in iPhone which gives you the option to share any notes with other people, so we have a shared meal plan list and shopping list but also use other notes for various to do lists, Christmas card list etc. I imagine other phones would have similar apps though.

Lemonyfuckit · 27/07/2022 18:48

Oh just thought of another one (none of mine are today specific just things I do) - I get mail order tampons from Daye which I think (I hope) are probably the most environmentally friendly of the non-reusable sanpro at any rate. Customise your subscription to how many you need and cycle length (and I think they're pretty good value) so the right amount turns up at the right time each month, never have to remember to buy.

Just one thought on this - I totally get you re them always taking a much larger DD, but I did see something from Martin Lewis the other day suggesting if people can afford it now to maybe consider keeping a somewhat higher DD at present to help spread the pain a little when the price cap goes up again in October.

luxxlisbon · 27/07/2022 18:51

Having saved items that automatically add to my food shop online basket. No idea why I didn’t set it up sooner.

TheBikiniExpert · 27/07/2022 19:13

@Skethylita That's the sort of quick craft project which is immensely satisfying!

CharlesIsQueensHorcrux · 27/07/2022 20:59

Recently lost my phone so recommend setting up Find My Phone, sharing passwords between devices, Google photos - all pretty basic but I hadn’t done then when I lost my phone life was a nightmare.

Also hair dye on subscription so just as I start to think I am starting to look like a badger it magically turns up!

Thatiswild · 27/07/2022 21:05

Deleted WhatsApp. Have probably saved hours of being hassled already today! I felt more relaxed within half an hour :)
