to think that Brazilian bikini bottoms/knickers are insanely uncomfortable?

I have mistakenly ordered a bikini with Brazilian bottoms despite having a couple of pairs of Brazilian knickers that I rarely wear as they're so uncomfortable. Now, don't get me wrong, I can see the attraction of a nice cheeky bum on display. But they are sooo frickin' uncomfortable, how does anyone tolerate wearing them for any length of time?! I have a couple of pairs of Brazilian knickers that, to be frank, chafe my crack mercilessly and I only wear them if nothing clean is left in the knicker drawer and I know I'm not going to be walking around that much. But the bikini bottoms, omg! So much material in your crack, they are uncomfortable on another level. I have worn them once on the beach and never again. Is there anyone who thinks they are actually fine to wear? Or do most women just suffer them in order to look sexy?

YANBU = yes, they are insanely uncomfortable
YABU = no, I actually like having tons of unnecessary material chafing my crack and my arse cheeks fully on display

I think you must be wearing the wrong size?

Fairislefandango · 24/08/2022 08:09

YANBU. I don't think they look good either, however nice a figure the wearer has. Saw a few on the beach this summer and was Confused at the 'Hey everyone - here are my bum cheeks!' look. Call me old-fashioned, but I tend to think bum cheeks should be under clothes in public.

TruffleShuffles · 24/08/2022 08:12

Just to add the people who think they are very comfy and get them from M&S, the pants M&S describe as Brazilian are not Brazilian at all in my opinion. I would say they are most other shops version of bikini pants.

ByeByeMr · 24/08/2022 08:14

Definitely not for me. I'm more 1950s style

I've had a Google and I think you're right!!

They do look wedgie

So ..... I'm not a fan because, like others, they're very uncomfortable. They sit in the cracks and chafe my bum hole! But PP are saying that's the wrong size (not really, it's the size I always buy but going with the flow) .... where is the thong part meant to sit if not in the crack? It needs to be reasonably snug or it's going to flap around? All those finding them comfortable, do you really wear them so they are loose across the bum hole or does your bum hole just not get irritated by them?
And on the shaving/waxing point - surely everything except the triangle bit needs to be hairless because you *will flash bits occasionally.

I think the idea about UTIs is that with the material resting on the bum hole it's much easier for fecal matter 🤢 to transfer up to the urethra.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 24/08/2022 08:34

I like them assuming you mean the ones that have a slightly cheekier bum than usual and not the ones which are to me thongs. I also like them as knickers as they give less vpl and are flattering on me. I assume it depends on body shape as so many posting here hate them. I also suspect people are not buying the correct size.

HippyDippieTrees · 24/08/2022 08:42

I love them! I get a pants subscription every month where two pairs of Brazilian knickers come through my door every month. I get them a size up and have a round bum from years of squats and walking.

How many pants do you need?!

HippyDippieTrees · 24/08/2022 08:55

I've currently got around 8 pairs @chillipenguin after I chucked all my old, greying, holey, uncomfortable ones out. It's a revelation to me to be wearing nice knickers everyday.

I just couldn't imagine walking around with my arse hanging out. I also hate anything stuck up my crack. Definitely not for me.

I bought some M and S big pants recently because I needed a smooth line under a pair of trousers. I have always worn a variety of small pants. Oh my god the joy of 'full briefs'. So so comfy. I bought more. I am 57. I am never going back

Ahh I thought it was like one of those subscriptions that go on years. Yes it's nice to have new knickers.

What do you mean by not buying the correct size? Is there an expectation to size up? I buy what is the correct size in every other garment I own - why should knickers be different? For info I'm a size 8 and have very a very round bum.

SudocremOnEverything · 24/08/2022 12:07

I don’t understand it either. Nor do I particularly want to see so much arse on a beach.

but it’s not up to me what other people want to wear.

I mean there's a lot of talk here of chaffing, splitting ones crack etc. Correctly sized pants are unlikely to do that so it sounds like some people may be kidding themselves. I buy my normal size but I'm also realistic about what my regular size is iyswim.

SudocremOnEverything · 24/08/2022 16:16

I think it’s not just about size. It’s sometimes about what material is positioned where that can cause issues of this kind. Even if your pants are enormous and your arse is less so.

For me it's where the seam is. If the seam runs the length of the gusset it'll chaff and split me in two regardless of the size - I pretty much always size up in pants, I've tried 2 sizes up and if anything it chaffs more! I don't have that issue with the ones with a seam free gusset.

Sunnyqueen · 24/08/2022 20:39

I've been wearing them years, granted I always go at least one size up but yeah no chaffing, rubbing, wedgieing, any material touching my butthole, no uti's, yeast infections or any other hygiene issues. Not sure how on earth pps have come to the conclusion they do that or how they've managed to get those issues from wearing them. Only explanation they are wearing a too small size.

oviraptor21 · 24/08/2022 23:04

OK. We'll if by a too small size you mean the size you wear in absolutely everything else then you may be right. I will experiment with a 10 and report back 😁

SnooozyTree · 24/08/2022 23:15

YANBU for your body shape, but YABU for mine. I can't bear full coverage knickers - they never sit where they're supposed to and I end up constantly readjusting. For me, the Brazilian style sits where the full coverage style try to end up - I find them comfy and best of all, they don't move about and annoy me. No irritation or chafing whatsoever.

I don't, however, have a Brazilian style bikini. Need to look into that!

StarlightLady · 25/08/2022 08:17

@SnooozyTree - Exactly! Brazilians suit my shape too. For me the key thing for comfortable knix is stretch. I need something that moves with me.

Pollydon · 25/08/2022 08:21

I find them comfortable with jeans and denim shorts ( live abroad), but not normal shorts , trousers or skirts.
I go between Brazilian knickers and grannie pants 😂

BringMeTea · 25/08/2022 08:27

I loathe them. However I think it might be sensory issues. I just cannot get past the urge to pull them over my whole bum cheeks. If you can ignore that or do not have that feeling I suppose they might be ok. It does annoy me though that the whole design is aimed at the male gaze.

alwaysfactor50 · 25/08/2022 08:43

I'm getting sick of seeing otter people's bum cheeks. Was on a flight yesterday and walking through security a woman had shorts so short I could see more than necessary.

Even those who have good figures look weird in them, I think a fuller pant can be more sexy as your not shoving it out there for all to see.

What you wear as your knickers is your call though as I don't need to see your arse 🤣

IodineQueen · 25/08/2022 09:00

I can’t bear the feeling of pants not covering my cheeks or, god forbid, being swallowed by my arse. It’s torture. Also can’t stand any sort of band around my uterus area as it’s usually tender from endometriosis. High-waisted and cheek-covering all the way. Life is too short for uncomfortable pants.
