To be fed up of nursery sending my kid home filthy?

and I don’t just mean a bit of paint on the clothes, mud on shoes etc. I mean dirty nappies at least one a week that have clearly been sat in for a while (poo molded around the bum cheeks). Food crusted all round her mouth. Hair in her face with her hair clip dangling off the end. Filthy hands, skinned knees with no plaster.

would I be OTT to complain?

None of that is acceptable. I would complain and/or remove her. I work in a preschool and while they get a bit dirty, we wash their hands regularly and their faces after eating and before going home. Plus I'd change a kid that dirty into a clean tshirt in case they were going somewhere after preschool. The nappy is unforgivable

The nappies, knee and food on clothes and face would bother me most. Her hair as well, they definitely can manage to fix it midday so at least it's out of her face and food/drink for the rest of the day. Paint on clothes wouldn't bother me but on top of everything else it's not great.

That sounds really bad they shouldn't be letting her sit in her poop, it will make her skin sore and just isn't nice.
The injuries again can happen but if it's all the time sounds like they are not watching her. My nursery fills in an incident form for every accident that leads to an injury.

My toddlers clothes are dirty sometimes but they have aprons etc for messy play, and always change into a spare if he gets really dirty or wet.
His face is never dirty, only his clothes a bit every now and again so they do clean him up as well as they can.
I would suggest reporting the nursery and changing to a new one.
