Aibu to complain to the school that under 6 year olds were taken out for 30-45 minutes this morning given the temperatures (28°c) to play?

Did you know they where going on the trip? If so did you talk to the school and withdraw your consent if not happy with their risk assessment?

Whataworldwelovei · 19/07/2022 18:11

Do you go abroad for your holidays? If so, do you stay in your room the whole time? If not what do you do? What temperature is acceptable to let children out in?

generally interested in how you handle the weather.

Pumperthepumper · 19/07/2022 18:12

Why complain now though? It’s already happened, what would the purpose of your complaint be?

Topseyt123 · 19/07/2022 18:21

It would be absolutely ridiculous to complain about that. What a load of hysterical bollocks.

28 degrees is OK, and if they had water with them and had access to shade then that is OK too.

Georgyporky · 19/07/2022 18:26

20 tomorrow here & pissing down. Would you complain if the kids got wet ?

redbigbananafeet · 19/07/2022 18:28

It was an off site visit? So relied on parent volunteers? So when you arrived to volunteer why didn't you mention it then?

lickenchugget · 19/07/2022 18:29

28 isn’t overly hot, it’s a regular summer temperature in the south east.

Yabu, it’s absolutely fine.

Acheyknees · 19/07/2022 18:31

If your child got heatstroke, yes, please complain. If not, what exactly are you complaining about?

WinterMusings · 19/07/2022 18:33

marcopront · 19/07/2022 17:34

Have your told the met office as they seem to think that 40 is the highest temperature.

@marcopront

That's not how it works🙄🙄🙄

Do you seriously think the recorded temperature is the highest anywhere? How exactly do you think that works???

TugboatAnnie · 19/07/2022 18:43

Thank goodness for the heatwave I say! Otherwise school/teacher bashing would veer between moaning about staff presents and why are they just having dvds/board games all week.

KatherineofGaunt · 19/07/2022 19:00

Were they in direct sun that whole time with no shade or water? If so, YANBU.

If they walked to the park 5 mins away to play under the trees then YABU.

Can't vote unless you give more details, other than it was an off-site trip for about 45 mins.

Bwix · 19/07/2022 19:02

YABU. Even if your dc is made of chocolate, you'd find that 28C won't make them melt. (Because of the hard vegetable fats btw)

surreygirl1987 · 19/07/2022 19:06

You have GOT to be kidding.

RubyandPearl · 19/07/2022 19:14

So you've seen the teachers lesson plans for this week and know that it absolutely could have been put off until later in the week I assume?
Exactly what do you hope to achieve with your complaint?
