Blue top although I do wish I could still get the silver top. Good memories of trying to beat the bluetits to the cream 😂

They're still here, or the magpies, or foxes. Haven't worked it out yet!

bruce43mydog · 14/07/2022 21:31

I used blue whole milk for years and then changed to green top milk, semi skimmed 25 years ago and wouldn't go back to blue top milk, because its to creamy

If I bought skimmed milk neither if us would drink it becauseof the taste, we like it whole.

I think it's what you get used to.
I used to have whole... then semi... now skimmed. I can't stand whole milk now.
I see skimmed milk as a healthier option for me too.

ErrolTheDragon · 14/07/2022 23:17

Blue for coffee and muesli if we've run out of yogurt, red for tea.

Green UHT (plus dried skimmed) if I'm making yogurt.

Decafflatteplease · 14/07/2022 23:21

Blue for the DC and if I ever have a hot chocolate. Blue for cooking.

Green for everything else.

All from the milkman, tastes so much better than supermarket!

4 pints a day here, 2 green 2 blue.

ThinWomansBrain · 14/07/2022 23:22

Waitrose don't have coloured tops any more, they're all sort of white translucent plastic - probably saves a lot of money. They aren't as thick either.
the labels are still the usual blue/green/red though - I have green

Thestoppedfan · 14/07/2022 23:22

BOB milk here which I think is yellow top

allboysherebutme · 14/07/2022 23:26

Green for adults, blue for children. X

Is that at the supermarket? The whole milk from the milkman was definitely red.

Ah but the milk from my milkman ( north west England) silver is full fat I think blue and silver is semi but I can't be sure I've not ordered that for years

@zaza687 did you want us to just vote on the colour disregarding the type of milk or do you want to know what type of milk we all drink ( and why do you want to know ? )

I think the uncoloured lids are easier to recycle.

Plinkyplankyplonk · 14/07/2022 23:30

I cant tell the difference. However it must be cravendale filtered. Lasts so much longer

Stevienickssnickers · 14/07/2022 23:31

Red for me please.
DS has whole milk and I can't stand the smell of it.

I'm in the NW, we got deliveries during 2020 - the full fat was silver , the skimmed was blue and silver. The full fat wasn't homogenised, had to get back into the habit of shaking the bottle!

Seasidemumma77 · 14/07/2022 23:34

Blue

KohlaParasaurus · 14/07/2022 23:35

Blue.

Chazzagirl2 · 14/07/2022 23:49

Green. Blue is okay in coffee but I can’t stand it in tea. Don’t some supermarkets also do a purple/lilac lid - can’t remember what milk that is?

DeanStockwelll · 14/07/2022 23:56

@ErrolTheDragon , creamline dairies by any chance ?
The cream in their silvertop is very thick , if the bottle is stood unopened for a day or two you have to shake it like buggery, I have even had to use a teaspoon handle to stir it sometimes as the cream us set solid

Chazzagirl2 · 15/07/2022 00:01

Actually I’ve just found it (should’ve googled it before, just being lazy). It’s virtually no fat and pretty awful.

Galaxyinmypocket · 15/07/2022 00:03

Blue

Not sure, DH did the orders. Some of the bottles were creamline, but some had other labels from quite a large area. The cream did sometimes set solid - nice to scoop out onto the top of my coffee.Grin

oviraptor21 · 15/07/2022 00:04

Blue.
Had green for a long time believing it to be healthier. Don't buy into that nonsense any more and one of the delights is enjoying whole milk again.

TheDuchessOfBeddington · 15/07/2022 00:04

Blue for drinking and cooking. Green for tea.

Though apparently in different countries they use other colours so it can be a bit confusing

Yes - USA is red for whole and blue for skimmed! (Purple is 2% and green is 1%)

Skim is vile. Kids prefer whole (the 2/3 that drink it). I mainly only use it in cooking, and whole makes better puddings and the like, so that's what we have. I put half & half (10% fat) in my coffee, lemon in tea.
