To find the Tory leadership race just awfully self indulgent?

I'm on the app so I don't think I can enable voting...

Watching the news over the last few days, with all of the campaigning for the new Tory leader it just made me so angry that this is going to drag on until September.

Grant Shapps was on television yesterday, being asked about what is going to be done by the Chancellor Nadhim Zahawi about the impending worsening of cost of living over the next few months, and he pretty much said not a lot as there would be a new Chancellor when we get a new Prime Minister anyway.

So basically no one in the top jobs are doing any real work at the moment as they know they will be out in September anyway? Then on top of that we have to watch the candidates telling us how amazing they are when the vast vast majority of people won't have a say on who we end up with anyway.

They should be moving so much faster to get someone in and get tackling the real problems before people are even worse off than they currently are.

Eugh. Morons.

All vile. Depressing.

But sweetie it isn't. And when, hopefully, the new PM actually starts to reject Liberal fusspot theories, they will.be strong. If your Labour were so great there would have been a general election. And millions of Iraqis and Afghani people would still be alive if Labour were so credible and non corrupt.

I'd like to know what liberal fusspot theories actually are? or like tory manifesto is that just another 3 word slogan without substance :D

Truss will become PM. Labour will be happy.

Blossomtoes · 19/07/2022 15:58

Depends how long we have to wait for an election how happy Labour will be.

And then it turns out the elected leader worked less days in the actual job as she spent campaigning?!

Than she spent*

It's like they are all queuing up to put Prime Minister on their CV not caring about the shit state of the country. Almost like they are self-serving narcissists.

ELM8 · 20/10/2022 19:46

It's almost like that isn't it 🤦🏻‍♀️

Almost like they are self-serving narcissists.

Wouldn't that be a good definition of your average run-of-the-mill politician?
