My neighbour shouting her fucking cat all the time.

"FLUFFFFFFFY. FLUFFY. WHERE ARE YOU?? FLUFFFFFYYYYY"

She does it 4 or 5 times a day, top of her pissing lungs, for 5/10 mins at a time until cat shows up.
This can happen until about 11pm

And first thing in the morning.

I've been so close, so many times, to sticking my head out of the window and telling to STFU!

Would IBU to post a note through her door asking her to stop shouting for her cat so loudly, constantly? She's about 4 houses away too!! I've never spoken to her and she's very loud/swear so I wouldn't want to ask her in person.

My kids have started mimicking her voice/catcalling as they hear it so often.

I assume she's shouting her cat anyways...

How does a cat get into a strangers bedroom?

It comes in through an open window.

Harridance · 11/07/2022 16:45

If they're on the ground floor can't they just shut it a bit so air gets in but no cat

How does a cat get into a strangers bedroom?

One of my cats has done this, he's crawled out of our room onto the single story extension roof, made his way along the neighbours matching roof and gone through an open bedroom window!

Just shout 'I'm not coming home, you're too needy' every time she does it.

Do this 😂

OopsTooLate · 11/07/2022 16:52

Could her cat be lost? I must admit although I don't normally call my cat, he went missing for a few weeks and I'd go out calling him in case he was lost and my voice travelled to lead him home, thankfully he turned up after three weeks!

Does sound annoying, my neighbour does this with his dog, who's normally trying to climb into my car or get in through my front door, absolutely no control, luckily a very sweet natured thing (but also could be why my cat decided to take a holiday)!

MrsRhodes · 11/07/2022 16:54

You need to concentrate your attentions on teaching your children not to mimic people. It is rude.

TheCanyon · 11/07/2022 16:56

Anyone else with a cat called fluffy sinking into their seat? It's not me I promise, only have 1 and 2 neighbours on each side respectively 🤣

GeorgeCat1 · 11/07/2022 16:57

There was a court case here where someone named his dog after a neighbour he was having a dispute with. He'd then shout abuse at the dog.

This is what makes mumsnet so funny, you absolutely MUST teach your toddlers to quietly shut up and put up! How very dare you allow them out of the nursery op! 🤣🤣

Shout back “Have you lost your pussy?”

gogohmm · 11/07/2022 17:13

Silly question but why don't cat owners just get a cat flap? We acquired a cat (long story) but thankfully we had a cat flap from the previous owners. Cat comes and goes, no need to annoy neighbours

Because one of mine drags half dead pigeons home.

This sounds like my neighbour, but she doesnt stop at 11pm, 3.30am, 5am screaming for her fucking cat.

Not much you can do really. If she is anything like ours, the note wont stop her because I have already heard someone else yell will shut the fuck up at her at 3.30 this morning

ilovesooty · 11/07/2022 17:20

Harridance · 11/07/2022 16:38

I'm amazed cat's come when they're called, ours never has

My two come at teatime when I call their names.

Mind you, they answer to "Come along you murdering little sods" too.

I've got a cat flap and they're in and out all day.

The OP sounds very angry. I'm sure her children aren't silent all the time. It's all part of community life.

RelativePitch · 11/07/2022 17:25

I choose to get my cat in at night- about 11 at the moment, just to give the poor wildlife a break from his murdering. But generally I get him in by chirruping the exact same sound mother cats make. Which I guess would be quite weird if it was overheard by the neighbours.

The obvious correct way to call a cat is psh wsh wsh wsh...

Or shake a packet of Dreamies….

Booklover3 · 11/07/2022 17:46

This is why I trained mine to come when I whistle instead

IdiotCreatures · 11/07/2022 18:01

@gogohmm because we are in a rented flat and he's an illegal cat. Would not be able to put one in the back door, double glazed and we would have to replace with a new door if we moved out. Other access to the garden is two windows, one is old frosted glass with a 'naice' Victorian design and other is in need of replacing but it's not our window so bugger that.
Have had that window open for the little bugger since April (and before that as well...)
He also comes when he is called, positively runs up the wall in a total gallop. Our neighbor has commented that he's got better recall than their dog.

Trinity65 · 11/07/2022 18:08

Haha
Amusing thread .

I call my cats a maximum of 3 times . If they choose not to hear Me I go in again They always come back though by either leaping through the living room window or sitting on a wheely bin, meowing .
OP suggest your neighbour tries shaking Dreamies for her Fluffy . Works a treat for my two .
