Most annoying minor thing to happen to you recently

A woman bought something from me yesterday, through Facebook Marketplace. She messaged in advance to ask if cash would be ok, and I said a bank transfer would be far preferable, as I rarely carry cash these days. She saw the message and didn't reply, so I assumed that was ok.
She turned up to collect the item and only had cash on her I accepted the cash, thinking that I could use it to pay for something in town later.
In town, I discover that the cash has somehow fallen out my bag
So it's a loss all round for me.

What's a relatively trivial irritation you've had to put up with lately?

I’ve just kicked a full plate of dried, cat food and it’s flown all over the bleeding floor.

Taxi didn’t turn up so I had to wake the baby and drive my husband to the airport at 5.45am yesterday 🙄 then I took baby out of car seat when we got home and she’d pooped everywhere 😭

Got a lovely pack of Brie brought to my door today to have for lunch (I'm isolating due to covid at the moment so my levels of excitement for this Brie were virtually indescribable).

Opened it up. Cut off a huge slab. Dropped it on the kitchen floor. Unsalvageable because it kind of flopped into the corner where dust gathers.

Cut a new slab. Prepared rest of lunch. Sat down to eat it. Bent awkwardly - bread fell on the floor. FML.

Oodie is a brand. MASSIVE hoodies that reach down to your knees.

The Internet just froze. I'm sitting next to the router but I had to lean uncomfortably to turn it off and on and then wait a whole minute for my WiFi to kick back in.

My ready meal's cellophane did not come off in one go. It seemed to be made in 2 parts. The bit going round the outside of the tray and the bit covering the tray. So in order to get it off I had to use a sharp knife but it still didn't come off easily. It was very messy and my hands got covered in lamb hotpot that was very...hot

Bought a train ticket today in the trainline app for whole 2 hour return journey. Changed twice there and back, ticket not checked once (barriers open, no conductors on train). Last few miles of journey, enforcement officers point out my ticket had to be collected with a code (I’d assumed it was in the app). I also had my feet on the plastic frame of the seat (either side of the upholstery). So they took my name and address to enforce railway byelaws. I assume a fine is on its way (which I can’t afford). Cue crying middle aged woman on train, day ruined.

They all seem to shred these days.

I thought they did this on purpose to us all ...

Mid-way through a ball of yarn found two cut ends knotted together. Oh the rage! 😡

I had something delivered in the post in one of those paper envelopes with bubble wrap on the inside. Attempted to rip it up to throw away and it was filled with...well I don't know what it was, like fluff or something...

I've never knitted anything in my life and I still get it. Sounds infuriating.

Was it from China? I've had this too. Horrible stuff.

I just made myself eggs on toast - I’ve eaten it but it tasted of washing up liquid…. Think one of my darling adult children may have had the frying pan in the sink for washing up then put it back on the hob without completing the job ….. 🤢

Yesterday I had to navigate my way to our downstairs loo at crack of sparrows fart while barely awake…, we are jam packed with furniture from a storage unit I had to clear after DPs sad passing, so there’s a narrow path from one door to said loo (our house layout is particularly weird) There is a dismantled electric scooter requiring a repair on the right hand side of the narrow alley…. It is dark…., I kicked the front of it and bruised my toe.

I neglected to move it on the way back - was very sleepy and went back to bed. TMI warning - IBS and hot weather sent me scurrying the same route about two hours later AAAAAAND I bloody did it again 😵‍💫 Big toe is now bruised and bloody …..

Guess what I’m doing tomorrow - oh yeah, trying to sort out my whole damn house because the minor annoyances are becoming rage inducing…..

I just bought yarn to make a sweater for my sister, got excited, and now my tendinitis has flared up. I’m staring at a big bag of perfect autumn coloured yarn I won’t be able to touch for a few weeks.

W have been touring lots of secondary schools and it takes hours! We had finally found the Art department in a particular school 5 minutes before the end of the open evening (we weren't too worried as all other schools were still welcoming people in when open evening had actually finished 5 or 10 minutes ago) as we went to enter the teacher closed the door in my face and ordered is to go into the textile room! It really annoyed me how rude she was! I emailed the head teacher when we got home and was offered a private tour by the head teacher which meant my daughter and I could see the Art department and some other parts we hadn't seen (despite being in the school for 3 hours!) so it was a good result.

This evening we all had different quick/ready meals (we do it occasionally instead of takeaway). I had a fish pie and popped it in the oven and then did a load of other stuff including baby bedtime and came down and cooked some peas to eat it and was about to get it out when… it transpires my husband turned the fucking oven off at some point and doesn’t know when. I don’t know whether it’s had any cooking at all. I think I have to put it back in for the whole time don’t I. I am fucking fuming. He then got angry at me for being angry at him saying it was an accident. Yes but I’m the one that’s been inconvenienced! All that’s happened to you is being called out for doing a stupid thing!

And just to add insult to injury, I have strained my Achilles’ tendon on my left ankle, while emptying said storage unit and doing more activity in a fortnight than I’ve probably done in the last two years and my toe injury is on the right…..

I’m now walking like a constipated penguin wearing shoes two sizes too small and limping like a drunken sailor …..

Oh I so needed to get that out of my system ….. thank you 🙏
