This name would be for a boy

I’m guessing you don’t live in or anyway near Swinton do you OP? I did once. And I think the good people of Swinton would think you are totally bonkers. Poor kid 😕

Or Halliwell or Breightmet?

He could have a younger sibling named Little Lever.

My twins are named Egerton and Edgworth.

x2boys · 07/07/2022 18:16

Or perhaps if the Op has three boys she could set a trend with the Levers ,ie Great,Little and Darcy?

You beat me to it @x2boys!

Nice if you had a third would you consider Entwhistle?

We unfortunately chose Bromley Cross but I’ll get down to the register office first thing tomorrow.

There's another Swinton in Ryedale, near Castle Howard, you might want to claim that one.

Depends if it's his name or not.

Would be a weird thing to do if he was called Gary.

Ok, you win the internet today 😂

Babdoc · 07/07/2022 19:21

30 years ago, when DH and I were choosing names, we drove past a road sign on the A1 pointing to Stenton and Garvald.
We joked that if we had a boy, we’d call him Stenton Garvald. Thankfully, we had two girls!

MangosteenSoda · 07/07/2022 19:22

Pendlebury or Walkden perhaps?

Actually, plain old Winton is a viable (and geographically close) alternative.

No points for guessing where I’m from 😀

We secretly signal each other by using using the term ‘tea’ for our evening meal and confusing folk on threads about our love for black peas (plenty of vinegar please) 😊

It’s like a Masonic handshake but for Bolton/Bury/Manc/Salford posters.

x2boys · 07/07/2022 19:35

But we can only eat Black peas on bonfire night ,in a Styrofoam cup .

Butty with a ‘y’.

But black eyed peas out of a styrofoam cup is a true story (apologies to the environment).

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 07/07/2022 19:51

Obviously Liverpool.

Victoria as a middle name Grin

maddiemookins16mum · 07/07/2022 19:53

Clinton? Winston? Your child will get this EVERY time they tell someone their name.
Behave and don’t be ridiculous.
IT IS NOT A NAME.

Paramummy3 · 07/07/2022 19:55

Breightmet is lovely for a girl

Even better would be the original name of Bright Meadows, don't you think?

Puddycatfan · 07/07/2022 20:01

How about Maltby? (for all those Rotherhamites.....)

think Wath would be better, and for extra poshness could add hyphens and do the correct Wath-Upon-Dearne
