For 2 days we haven't had any heating Or hot water. 2 days! 2 days! Had the gas engineer out yesterday and he said it was an electrical problem so had the electrical engineer out today. Took him about 5 minutes! When the previous owner took the water tank out of the house and put a combi one in they left the immersion tank switch which is by the kettle in the kitchen and I went round on Monday eve and turned all the switches off.. this switch turned the boiler off completely

It cost £120 to flick a switch that I turned off!!

BRB going for a hot shower 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

@randomchap nooo!!! I've never mastered French onion soup but the recipes are hours long!

I did that with stock once tbh! Drained the stock down the sink 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Once made a lovely French onion soup. When it was finished, I absent-mindedly wandered over to the sink, picked up the colander and strained it.

I still served the beefy-winey-garlicky onions. I think it took my wife a few days to stop laughing

You'd be surprised at how incredibly common this is. I don't think I've done it myself (yet) but on the thread I mentioned previously (How Broken are You?) LOTS of people confessed to straining soup and chicken stock through colanders.

I think my most recent one was making a meal for my toddler - chicken chargrill, mashed potato, broccoli and sweetcorn, all lovingly cut into little pieces and arranged on her favourite plate.

I picked the plate up in one hand, the empty chicken chargrill box in the other hand and on my way out of the kitchen, chucked the plate of food in the recycling bin and proudly presented my poor hungry daughter with an empty cardboard box. It didn't occur to me until I saw her confused and rather upset expression.

I once went to return a mattress as it was so lumpy and uncomfortable and I could feel every single spring in it.
I had it upside down.

I got the Bosch engineer out as my washing machine had stopped working. He showed me how to turn off the child lock I’d accidentally turned on. I had no idea the machine had a child lock!
