Would you say it was the cleaners job to clear up animal sick, pee and poo?

Now you are just reaching for something. Where does a disability even come into this? Hmm The op clearly doesn't mention this.

I said it depends on the context. As have lots of people. The OP gives 0 context. I can imagine scenarios in which it's perfectly reasonable for a cleaner to do it, which others have also said.

How would you know that ddog hadn’t peed after she left??

you came home right when cleaner was leaving? Cleaner left a note that mind the dog pee in the hall? Yes I would find it peculiar if she had just left it.

Tillsforthrills · 06/07/2022 06:19

Unless it was specified in the interview there is no way that would be included or expected. That’s the animals owner to deal with.

SouperNoodle · 06/07/2022 06:37

Not in the slightest.

ellebelli · 06/07/2022 10:22

Sorry I didn't get back to clarify sooner.
I am the cleaner, I have done so before many times at various houses usually because the pets are left in all day(I will let them out in thr garden when I am there)
I have even picked up dog poo from the garden because I needed to put the bin out and there wasn't a clear path to the bin!!!)
I was just annoyed when I got to the house and saw piles of dog sick all throughout the living room, there are also 3 young adults in the house!
I have a set time to clean and when I ha e to start cleaning up animal mess it bites into my time alot.
Just annoyed was all.
Yes I am the cleaner and it's what I get paid to do...
But it would be nice if some places where not such a bloody tip to start

Not without being agreed beforehand.

And if it was agreed beforehand I'd expect there to be a kit available to do so.

Tsarina01 · 06/07/2022 10:33

@ellebelli no, cleaning up dog sick is not what you are paid to do. I wouldn’t touch it, I would leave it there and make it clear that it is their job, not mine, to clean up after their dog.

Orangello · 06/07/2022 10:38

If the owners are in the house then absolutely they should clean up the sick.

BruceAndNosh · 06/07/2022 10:40

If there are young adults in the house capable of cleaning it, they should do it.
Also once the dog had been sick once, they should have taken it outside.

Geranium1984 · 06/07/2022 10:42

If its your weekly cleaner at your house then they absolutely would not be expected to clean up animal sick/excriment (or human for that matter). Yuck.

PuckeredArseFace · 06/07/2022 10:44

Bloody hell that's appalling @ellebelli , inform them that you won't be doing it in future
I'd probably drop them as clients as soon as I could, it shows an enormous amount of disrespect for you and your profession

Geranium1984 · 06/07/2022 10:45

Sorry have just seen your update. I'd try and find another house to clean instead if I were you, get rid of this client!!!

Realitea · 06/07/2022 10:53

I walked out from a job when a client asked me to go in and clean as usual - she had gone off to centre parks and left her dog behind alone in the house. Dog poo everywhere and dog clearly stressed. I took the dog to the vets and then a boarding kennel and sent her the bill. I left the poo for her to deal with and cleaned the rest of the house.
People really take the piss

Mally100 · 06/07/2022 10:59

I would leave this job. They are treating you disrespectfully and taking advantage of you. They sound disgusting too.

ComDummings · 06/07/2022 11:01

Bin the clients

tiredofthisshit21 · 06/07/2022 14:11

@Realitea I would have reported to the RSPCA as well - that's animal cruelty, leaving the dog alone at home for any length of time.

Realitea · 06/07/2022 14:20

I should have - Hopefully the vet did as I told them who the owner was and what they’d done
