God no. And I speak as a dog owner and cleaner employer.

TulipCat · 05/07/2022 17:12

Absolutely not. I don't expect my cleaner to do any cleaning up after my pets.

Londonrach1 · 05/07/2022 17:13

No

Am i being unreasonable.

I was asking what OP's AIBU is:

Is OP thinking it's reasonable or unreasonable for a cleaner to clean that stuff up?

They don't say.

BlanketsBanned · 05/07/2022 17:21

Oh I dont know, depends if op is the cleaner or the client too

That's what I was wondering, too.

QuandaleDingle · 05/07/2022 17:23

HELL NO

Ex cleaning company boss here, absolutely no decent client would have asked this of us

Barrawarra · 05/07/2022 17:29

No way!

PegasusReturns · 05/07/2022 17:33

I would think it very odd if a cleaner declined to clean up an accident that had occurred whilst they were present, equally I wouldn’t expect a cleaner to clean something that had been left for them.

Absolutely not. My dog has peed on the kitchen floor whilst cleaner was upstairs cleaning bedrooms. Should I have called her down and asked her to mop it up?! Now THAT would be odd.

loveliesbleeding1 · 05/07/2022 17:54

Oh,to be a fly on the wall on that Monday morning! Very well played.

Orangello · 05/07/2022 20:50

it would be, but my cleaner comes when I'm not at home - yes I would find it odd if she left an accidental puddle for the dog to trot around the house.

Meraas · 05/07/2022 20:52

Clean your own animal shit up! So dirty.

fizzyfood · 05/07/2022 20:53

Absolutely not.

Littlebirdyouaresosweet · 05/07/2022 20:54

Cleaner here.. Done all of the above many times but owner's mortified and hadn't noticed the piles and piles of dcat shit behind the sofa..

How would you know that ddog hadn’t peed after she left??

@tiredofthisshit21 you appear to have completely misunderstood my post Confused

Thebeastofsleep · 05/07/2022 21:22

Depends on the circumstances.

A severely disabled client? Then yeah, I'd expect to do it and human stuff too.

The op says very clearly that it's an animal that made the mess. And I think if it's human, then you are confusing a carer with a cleaner.

catandcoffee · 05/07/2022 21:54

Absolutely not.

Fairyliz · 05/07/2022 21:57

Blimey some sensitive people here. I used to work in a school office and regularly cleaned up children’s wee, poo and vomit.
Good job In didn’t say it wasn’t in my job description.

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 05/07/2022 22:34

@Fairyliz i too have been a school cleaner and it is part of the job to clean up after the kids - even the teaching and admin staff pitch in. It’s implied by the nature of the setting.
But the op is asking about animal excrement. We don’t know if she was (as a cleaner) expected to do so, or is someone who expected a cleaner to do so.
Now if I was asked to clean up after the schools chickens, I would say no, not part of my job and I would hope no one would expect a school cleaner to go in and muck out the chickens as part of their job. Iyswim!!

If the disabled person has a pet, and the pet has an accident.

If the disabled person has a pet, and the pet has an accident.

Now you are just reaching for something. Where does a disability even come into this? Hmm The op clearly doesn't mention this.
