Naturist beach

So my DH has always been more free and easy about nudity than me, and recently suggested we visit a naturist beach.

I'm not sure about everyone needing to see my bits, but he's quite keen!

What do you think, has anyone else been to a naturist beach? How was it?

YABU - do it, YOLO!
YANBU - eww, who needs to see all those dangly cocks!

Couldn’t be looking at pubes though 🤮

Did your DH tell you why he wants to do this OP?

Depends on the beach, no? Our local one is frequented mostly by gay men ( no problem) and pervy straight men -massive problem.
some keen naturists are trying to make it more woman friendly but in doing so they’ve given example of the harassment women have experienced including one lovely chap who started masturbating about a metre from 2 women…
I have a friend who went with her husband, she doesn’t mind blokes admiring her in the nip, and even she found it a bit intimating as she was the only woman there.

When I've been, anyone acting inappropriately were sharp pulled up by other beach goers.

If a person was acting inappropriately towards anyone or doing something like masturbating, theyd be dragged off the beach

Not for me. It seems to be either exhibitionist or voyeuristic, not natural to pale fleshed often repressed Brits!

But each to their own.

Tothemoonandbackx · 05/07/2022 20:51

I'd love to do something like that. I like being in the niff on my back garden when the sun's out, feels really refreshing.

laalaaland · 05/07/2022 20:58

Naturist beaches are great. I find them to generally be much more chilled out then regular beaches...with the added bonus of no unsightly tan lines and no sitting round in soggy swimwear after a dip.

There are often couples where one keeps some clothes on, there's no pressure. It's not unusual for people to pop some trunks/bikini bottoms on for a swim and just be naked when they're sunbathing. It really is whatever you want it to be, with no judgement.

I suspect this might be our local beach & I agree with the PP that stuff like this is usually dealt with very swiftly. I've witnessed a pervy looking guy with an old fashioned leather shopping bag, standing up at the back of the nudist looking like he was about to start fiddling with himself... 2 big muscle bound gay guys got up & soon saw him off before he even had a chance to start, though I suspect with how quickly they shot up to deal with him, he was known to them

Lochroy · 05/07/2022 21:22

We walked along one recently because there's a section at Studland which is for Naturists, but it's slap bang in the middle of a lovely stretch of beach popular for walkers to go from Studland Village to the chain ferry.

I'm old enough now not to snigger at anyone else's wobbly bits. Each to their own. Why not give it a go if you're curious and pop your kit back on if you don't like it?

DaftyLass · 05/07/2022 21:23

They one DH and I go to is pretty evenly split between the sexes, but does veer to the higher end of the age spectrum.
People are very much minding their own business, or are there chatting in small groups of friends.

If you aren't comfortable, don't do it.
If you'd like to give it a try, you can. You can also change your mind and leave when you get there, or decide once is enough.
It shouldn't be something that leaves you unhappy or anxious.

We like it because it feels so good getting sunshine on you, not adjusting your suit, not worrying what shows, and swimming naked feels marvelous too.

Swimming in the sea is wonderful without a restricting costume. Just the water against your skin is so natural.

I can get the same feeling in the shower or bath, without having to traumatise countless other people seeing me naked!!

Proudofeveryone · 05/07/2022 21:36

Walking through the sand dunes in gran canaria.
We were in shorts and t-shirts when out popped
a friend who plays in the same sport as DH.
We didn't know where to look and it wasn't downwards.

Myli1 · 23/11/2022 13:41

My DW and I always seek out naturist beaches and/or hotels with a naturist area when we go on holiday. What is the point of putting on clothes to get them wet whilst swimming? Being naked in the sea feels so much more pleasant and then not having the discomfort of sitting in soggy wet shorts afterwards. Plus no tan lines of course, so it’s a win-win.

OoooohMatron · 23/11/2022 13:47

Absolutely not. I cannot think of anything worse and if my DH even suggested it I'd tell him to fuck right off.

I say!
No need to be like that!
Keep your shirt on!(so to speak)

notforonesecond · 23/11/2022 14:14

I’ve not been to one, but whenever you see footage on tv docs it always makes you realise how little most normal blokes cocks are. Flapping about in the sea air. Bless them.

Haha, my shirt will be firmly on! I'm far to immature to visit a nudist beach anyway!

Christmasfireplacewreath · 23/11/2022 14:51

There was one along from our hotel on holiday in Europe . I can assure you it was not all shapes and sizes, it was predominantly elderly overweight men and some women of the same ilk, lots with their hats and sandals on.

not for me at all. And I do find it quite odd to be honest, this desire to all be naked in public together. Because Really that’s what it is. People going on about how restrictive a swimsuit is or how uncomfortable it is when it’s wet as a reason to get naked in public, I just don’t get at all

Myli1 · 24/11/2022 08:53

Conversely I have never understood the point of wearing clothes to just get them wet in the sea! It is much easier and more pleasant to swim naked and then not have the discomfort of sitting in soggy wet shorts afterwards whilst drying off. Plus no tan lines of course, what’s not to like?

But if you don't have tan lines how are going to try and impress the people back at work when you come back from your holiday? 😁

Uffizi1 · 24/11/2022 09:08

I think a genuinely naturist beach could be an ace thing, unfortunately this caper very often comes with a hedonistic vibe…

Good point! We are not normally naked at work, although we do sometimes go skinny-dipping at a pool near to us, weather permitting!

JaceLancs · 24/11/2022 09:16

I always go topless if allowed when abroad as avoids the tan lines

Sparklingbrook · 24/11/2022 09:50

So one of the plus sides is your colleagues and friends being able to tell apart the bits of you with sun damage and the bits without. Perfect.

SconesJamthenCream · 24/11/2022 09:54

I've been to one a few years ago in Portugal. All the men seemed to standing up, hands on hips doing lunges where the women they were with were reading books Wink. That's nice Dear 😂
