Do you think celebrities are on Mumsnet?

I was just imagining Katie Price following the thread about her (not to make this a TAAT). I wonder if well-known people who are often discussed on here would defend themselves without revealing their identity. I think many are; what do you think?

Have just been listening to Jo Brand’s Lippy audiobook.

She mentions Mumsnet a tedious amount.

Don’t think she’s AnyFucker though . Wouldn’t imagine she could be bothered!

No, we're they're not.

😂

It's an interesting question. It makes sense that some celebrities probably like the opportunity to fly under the radar and say whatever they want without it being immortalized in some click bait article.

I heard somewhere that Jo brand is on here. For some reason, I always read AnyFucker's posts in Jo brand's voice, no idea why Grin

Haha, me too 😁

the80sweregreat · 04/07/2022 12:27

I remember seeing a photo of Adele online in a thrift store in America ( this was about five years ago ) so I think celebs like a bargain too and probably shop all over as we do! Despite their millions.
I was a local comedy night and the comedian mentioned mumsnet and a bit of a cheer went up. It was funny.
I'm sure many celebs lurk and journalists definitely come on here ( for stories)

Twizbe · 04/07/2022 12:39

I'm pretty sure Megan markle is on here.

Not long before she had Lilibet there was a whole thread asking about the name, opinions and shortening to Lily. Most posters weren't keen.

I can just imagine that post:-

NC for obvious reasons but I'm looking for a name for DD, who is due sometime this year. We want the name to resemble that of her Great Grandmother. So something along the lines of Queen Elizabeth II. Thanks in advance.

🤣

Why would you think that of Jo Brand?

Auntpodder · 04/07/2022 18:49

A tv personality I know is v upfront about checking out reaction on MN after a programme has aired. 'Of course you would, I want to see what people thought of it.'

LadyVictoriaSponge · 04/07/2022 18:50

I imagine absolutely loads of famous people lurk even if they don’t post, let’s face it, if they aren’t living it up at some celebrity bash then they are probably doing what we are all doing, slobbing on the sofa reading mumsnet with one eye on the tv. We are all pretty basic when it comes down to it.

justasoul · 04/07/2022 18:57

Katherine Ryan mentioned something about that elimination communication thread, didn’t she? I can totally picture her here Grin

x2boys · 04/07/2022 18:58

I'm sure there are but they are not going to out themselves are they?
I remember one poster saying other posters would be horrified if they knew who she was and some people guessed Katie Hopkins ,which the Op neither confirmed or denied so who knows 🤔

Neverendingdust · 04/07/2022 19:04

For sure there will be, it’s the perfect place to anonymously voice your opinion especially if your opinion wouldn’t be received favourably on your official Twitter or Insta. It’s also a great place to temperature check other peoples views and trends unless of course it’s a thread swamped with bots or activists.

user143677433 · 04/07/2022 19:05

I love that MN is the great leveller! Every opinion has as much weight as another, assuming it is articulate, well considered, or funny 😁

That's the beauty of it being anonymous, I could be chatting to Brenda from Blackburn or The Duchess of Cambridge and be none the wiser.

Monr0e · 04/07/2022 19:10

Jennifer Saunders mentioned mumsnet when she was being interviewed by Graham Norton once. Something about finding her baby down the bottom of the bed in the morning and mumsnet having a field day about what a terrible mother she is. It definitely sounded like someone who was very familiar with the vipers site!

FortonServices · 04/07/2022 19:15

XelaM · 04/07/2022 01:43

Kate Middleton apparently was on here, but I don't know if she still is 🤷‍♀️

Doubt it. Mumsnetters like to think they are more influential than they actually are.

Bluetrews25 · 04/07/2022 19:19

To misquote Malfoy
'Katie Price? I didn't know she could read!'

Luxa · 04/07/2022 19:19

Alex Polizzi was on a thread a while back.

Bluetrews25 · 04/07/2022 19:21

That was a joke, BTW

ReeseWitherfork · 04/07/2022 06:46

Mundane yes, but I also like the idea of them getting wound up and over invested in other people’s bizarre problems. I can see Kate trying to relay a parking thread to Wills.

JK Rowling must be on here right?! I don’t think she’d be hiding in the shadows without mumsnet but there must be a confidence that comes safe in the knowledge that there are like minded people out in the world who are as passionate as she is.

😂

Then William asks "Yes but was there a diagram? I need to see a diagram..."

I do wonder if they’re on here, I can just imagine Meghan moaning on AIBU that Harry didn’t make 5 meals plus stock from the carcass out of the left over roast chicken dinner he proposed to her over 😂or Kate dreading their wedding! Mumsnet hates weddings at the best of times, imagine having to go to that one and smile 🤦‍♀️

MovinOnUp · 04/07/2022 23:22

I feel like the amazing Katherine Ryan might be on here.
