So so many but for me its Donny Hathaway. He voice is just amazing.

Phos · 15/06/2022 09:16

Taking everything into account, I’d say Billy Joel. His back catalogue is amazing, really eclectic and he’s amazing live.

Basing it solely on the vocals, Roy Orbison has a beautiful voice.

Jagsy · 15/06/2022 09:17

George Michael, Michael Jackson, Brandon Flowers, Darren Hayes

But you haven't mentioned any singers....
This is a singer.

Iarla O'Lionaird

Ah well in that case, Julie Fowlis.

Sqeebling · 15/06/2022 09:19

I've seen Adele live and her voice is truly gorgeous

MandyMotherOfBrian · 15/06/2022 09:21

Cat Stevens. His voice only gets better with age too.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 15/06/2022 09:24

George Michael

vivainsomnia · 15/06/2022 09:25

Chris Isaac, gorgeous too!

squashyhat · 15/06/2022 09:28

Linda Ronstadt. Her version of the Eagles' Desperado is just sublime. Made all the more poignant because she can no longer sing.

Funkyslippers · 15/06/2022 09:29

Ann Wilson from Heart is my favourite as they're my favourite band too. But I absolutely love Susanna Hoff's voice, like velvet!

Love Michael Hutchence too

RaininginDarling · 15/06/2022 09:31

Steve Perry (Journey). Been a huge fan since the early 80s. Although the sudden interest in Don't Stop Believing a few years back really put me off that song. (You can have too much of a good thing.) Also: Kate Bush. She is my all time favourite artist.

Funkyslippers · 15/06/2022 09:35

DisforDarkChocolate I like Jacquie Abbot's voice and it's very similar to mine (only better!). I don't think it has much range though and sadly she has no stage presence imo

user1471548941 · 15/06/2022 09:36

I have many many favourite artists but if we’re talking about singing ability here…

Adam Lambert, the range, the depth, the control, UNREAL! He covered Believe at the Kennedy Centre Honour with Cher in the audience and you can just see her wiping away tears in the audience. Then there is the IoW Festival performance of Who Wants to Live Forever, just on another level.

Chris Stapleton is also an incredible vocalist within his genre and when I heard Carrie Underwood I Will Always Love You with no backing I was convinced of her power also!

FinanceLPlates · 15/06/2022 09:38

Nina Simone
Joan Armatrading
Dolly Parton
Brandi Carlile
Barbara
Prince

Aphrael · 15/06/2022 09:41

Ann Wilson

Miracle101 · 15/06/2022 09:42

Mine is also Lana del Rey. Didn't expect to see that in the op.

Aphrael · 15/06/2022 09:43

Amy Lee and Joe Elliot too...

Dreizwei · 15/06/2022 09:49

I like the harmonies of The Everly Brothers.

Winniewonka · 15/06/2022 09:51

George Michael
Matt Monro
Marvin Gaye
Will Young

Karen Carpenter
Cara Dillon
Doris Day
Sade

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 15/06/2022 09:53

Whitney. Though Stevie Nicks does come a close second.
