Dd3 is at a state secondary school which allows girls to wear a school summer dress r as an option in the summer term.Dd since the age of 12 has had a large bust , now is now 1 5and has stopped growing and is a petite 5 ft nothing size 4 trousers with 34 E chest which doesn't sound big , but looks very big on her and attracts unwanted attention. The school have brought in a new rule that school jumpers can no longer be worn with the summer dress - blazers only..zthid is problematic because dd always wears a jumper to cover her bust whether in winter or summer uniform, also the buttons on the summer dress gape. At least the winter uniform has a tie to cover gaping.
Before the rule was brought in I spent £120 on 3 new dresses and I am annoyed she can't wear them now. Other girls feel the same but no-one feels able to bring it up with the staff. The next size up completely drowns her btw
Aibu to say something to the school .she has another 3 years to go.The same uniform is worn through the 6ht form too

Check out your local dry cleaners. One of ours is terrific at adjustments.

I am a teacher and think you should raise this with the school. A student who's embarrassed and self-conscious will struggle to learn. Raising this sort of thing helps others.

I don't understand the people saying it can't be true, I've got a small waist, size 6 but a large rib cage, I'm a 34/36 bra. Very difficult as it means fitted dresses don't work as I need a 14 round my ribs and a 6-8 across my stomach. Lots of people are very top heavy, it's not that odd.

It is very unusual, as for most people their waist is only a few inches below their band measurement and so those two measurements (band and underbust) are normally very close - generally within 3" or so of each other.

A size 6 is about a 24" waist, and it is pretty unusual to gain 10-12" between waist and underbust. Given how many shops fit incorrectly by adding inches to the band then it's more likely that a size 4/6 in a 34 back is in the wrong bra, which is why people are questioning it.
