Kids doing their business in parks.

As a regular user of parks, I regularly hear about people complaining about dogs doing their business in parks, but what rarely gets mentioned is how big a problem there is with kids doing the same.

And I'm not talking about your 14 year old that got caught short, I'm talking about what tons of brainless parents make happen.

Sit near a kids play area on any busy sunny day and you'll be witness to a never ending procession of toddlers escorted by parents heading for the nearest bushes.

All the parents think it's just them but anyone that spends any time nearby on a busy day can see it's one after another after another, all heading for the same bushes, all thinking nobody is noticing them and you know what, it's only one kids crap, what does it matter?

But no it's all day, and day after day. It happens in every busy park. It frequently ends up in the same handful of bushes. It's utterly disgusting and the parents that contribute to it are bad parents. Everyone complains about dogs but human crap is so much worse.

If you're one of those brainless people, can you please think about other people for once and stop being so disgusting? Take your kids to the damn toilets. It may be further away but it's what decent people do.

Some parks Don't have toilets. Get a life.

ladygindiva · 04/06/2022 19:35

I spend a lot of time at parks ( have two small kids) and have never ever witnessed a kid shitting in the park.

Georgyporky · 04/06/2022 19:43

All decent people do, but not all parents are decent.

My local park is regularly invaded by people who think it is acceptable to shit wherever they feel like it. The local council employees then have to clear up the mess after the police have moved them on.

Kath85 · 04/06/2022 22:13

I have no problem with letting my two year old pee in bushes and often do as none of the 4 parks near us have toilets and he is too little to hold it in, he refuses to poo outside but I carry nappy bags in case he did. This is a total non issue, don’t understand how anyone can get irritated over this!

XenoBitch · 04/06/2022 22:15

I have seen a grown man take a shit in my local park. He does it a lot. He lives less than an minute walk to the park too.

I have no issues with anyone caught short, regardless of age. If you shit, bag it up and bin, just like you would with a dog.

Partytoddle1777 · 04/06/2022 22:54

I let my toddler wee in a bush if the toilets are far away ? Why do you care so much? When first started potty training I’ve let him wee in a car park too next to my car. Get over yourself.

You carry nappy bags on the off chance that your child does a poo on the fl

Kath85 · 04/06/2022 23:02

I carry them because I have a lot left over from before he was toilet trained and I also use them to put soiled clothes in case he has any accidents due to only being 2, happy to clear that up for you!

Penguinsaregreat · 04/06/2022 23:08

I have never let my children take a dump in the park, never. Do people really do this?

mistermagpie · 04/06/2022 23:15

This isn't a thing. I have three kids aged 2, 5 and 6 so spend a huge amount of time in parks - never have I ever seen any child shitting in the park. My older two do pee behind a bush if needs must but given that dogs pee on literally everything, I can't see why anyone would get worked up about that. My youngest is still in nappies btw.

StepAwayFromGoogling · 04/06/2022 23:18

Just out of interest, what would you do if your child desperately needed a poo and there were no toilets at the park? Let them shit themselves?
Thankfully never happened to me bar one time DD2 was apparently desperate for a wee and then started to poo after the wee. I had no nappy bags with me so I dug a hole with a stick, buried the poo and filled it in with the soil I'd dug out. Not a great deal else I felt I could do.

Proud2care · 04/06/2022 23:27

Nothing wrong with a wild wee behind a Bush. I have never let my child poo though in a public park or space......

HiJenny35 · 05/06/2022 00:18

Yep saw it repeatedly today, definitely got more common. Have never let my kids do it, either they are young enough that you take a potty or they've grown out of the potty in which case they are able to give you the 20 minute warning to walk home, no excuse, don't be gross.

What do you do with the wee once they have done it in the potty?

SugarNspices · 05/06/2022 00:27

Are you sitting watching people all day, day after day taking their kids behind bushes in different parks? Do you keep a tally? That's a really gross hobby 💩

SickSadWorId · 05/06/2022 00:40

What do you do
when you cannot find the loo
In an English country garden?

Pull down your pants and fertilise the plants
In an English country garden

Was ever thus

I had an incident a few months ago with my 5yr old DS

On the way to school, not far, about a 10 minute walk give or take. Cutting through the park and told me he needed to pee. Asked him if he could hold it until we reached the school, he couldn't. My DS went into a fairly big bush and a man walking his dog decided to proclaim quite loudly and swearing how disgusting it was at my me and my DS

My son is autistic, plus had some regression in terms of going to the toilet at the time, to the point he would soil himself. So if he needed to go, it wasn't debatable. It was in a pretty big bush, so he would have to have been really staring and looking, which is creepy in itself

I've been a parent for 14 years and never have my children or any that I know needed to poo in a bush at the park. A wee yes, but never have I known kids to poo in a bush at the park.

This. 4 children over a 15 year period, and all of their friends to boot, Maybe a couple of wees. In ALL of that time, one incident where one needed a poo, 4 years old, undeniably embarrassing, yes but quickly sorted.

As I desperately try to get my newborn back to sleep this thread is giving me lots of giggles. Some spying on kids in bushes @Happycabbage

That's horrid. Majority of time public weeers are pissed men, you can bet if it was a bloke he wouldn't have said this. How unfortunate I hope it hasn't traumatised your son too much x

GraceandMolly · 05/06/2022 02:24

There’s nothing wrong with small kids peeing in bushes.

ChanceNorman · 05/06/2022 02:49

My three have watered many a tree in their time but never a poo.

I've had to squat behind a bush for a wee a few times myself. We camp and hike a lot and there's often no other realistic option - if the choice is a 40 minute walk to the nearest facilities or peeing in a bush then the bush is having it.

I can only imagine those that have never done it aren't very outdoorsy. I can't think of anything more boring than only taking your family to busy areas where there's always a public toilet within 5 minutes.

Should have asked him where his dog goes to pee. Does he hold it in until he gets home or cock its leg at random? Stupid man.
