Kids doing their business in parks.

Happycabbage · 04/06/2022 13:27

As a regular user of parks, I regularly hear about people complaining about dogs doing their business in parks, but what rarely gets mentioned is how big a problem there is with kids doing the same.

And I'm not talking about your 14 year old that got caught short, I'm talking about what tons of brainless parents make happen.

Sit near a kids play area on any busy sunny day and you'll be witness to a never ending procession of toddlers escorted by parents heading for the nearest bushes.

All the parents think it's just them but anyone that spends any time nearby on a busy day can see it's one after another after another, all heading for the same bushes, all thinking nobody is noticing them and you know what, it's only one kids crap, what does it matter?

But no it's all day, and day after day. It happens in every busy park. It frequently ends up in the same handful of bushes. It's utterly disgusting and the parents that contribute to it are bad parents. Everyone complains about dogs but human crap is so much worse.

If you're one of those brainless people, can you please think about other people for once and stop being so disgusting? Take your kids to the damn toilets. It may be further away but it's what decent people do.

I've rarely seen anyone complain about dog wee in parks, but seeing a child obviously pooing in a bush, let alone a parade of them, is even rarer!!

OP coooeeee where are yoooooo?????

At the park in the bushes waiting for someone to piss

muddyford · 04/06/2022 15:15

In this village there is a strong football contingent, 95% of whom live elsewhere. It's not only the kids peeing behind the equipment store but adults too, and definitely they both poo. And six feet away parents cook bacon rolls outside, for the players. Yum, yum. Faecal coliforms are free. There is a pavilion with lavatories fifty yards away.

loopshot · 04/06/2022 15:16

Get a grip.
What do you expect them to do?? Stand there and let them piss or shit themselves.

Do you have any kids??

luxxlisbon · 04/06/2022 15:23

How often are you going into the bushes to know with absolute certainty that this never ending procession of kids are pooing??

I imagine 90% of they time it’s a wee and I imagine it is by no means constant.

girlmom21 · 04/06/2022 15:27

Why are you sitting by childrens areas often enough to notice this being an issue?

MountainClimber22 · 04/06/2022 15:29

Yanbu

Dajeeling · 04/06/2022 16:17

This is so bizarre is so many ways… I can’t be bothered to even start replying. No can’t say it’s a problem in my life OP 😂

DontLookBackInAnger1 · 04/06/2022 16:21

Do you have kids?!

Most toddlers who toilet in bushes are new to potty training. That's why they get caught out. There's an urgency that won't wait for a toilet stop. Especially when you have siblings to consider too.

What would you prefer? That they wet themselves?

You're an idiot OP.

Ps. My kids have had poos in parks before. I'd rather they poo on the grass on the perimeter and I collect it in a nappy sack, than poo on their pants and down their trousers. I couldn't care less what people like you think either 😉

Rosehugger · 04/06/2022 16:27

DDs have often needed to pee on the way home from school or in the park. Because no public toilets are available- at one point because of vandalism, for several years, before they were replaced, the whole time that my kids were little. Little kids having a pee is not disgusting, if it bothers you don't look. I assure you they weren't doing it beyond the age of 4 or so.

TheVillageBaker · 04/06/2022 16:28

I only let mine wee in bushes, they've never pooed in one! And I've never seen evidence of other child poos in bushes either. Unfortunately, of the 3 parks we frequently go to, 2 have no toilets anywhere nearby and the other has toilets a little walk away so my DD might not always make it.

Rosehugger · 04/06/2022 16:29

I've had to take a leak and sometimes more than that while out running or walking in the countryside at times. Obviously I try not to, but sometimes a call of nature really cannot wait.

hassletassle · 04/06/2022 16:32

@Choopi

Is your kid actually toilet trained then?

-Yes, she just can't hold in wees for very long, like most recently toilet trained toddlers.

If you are in the car what happens when you have 2 minutes or they will pee themselves?

-I make sure she has a wee before wee set off and sometimes have to pull over for a wee in a bush if it's a long journey and she announces she needs one! Normal I think.

What about when you are at the checkout in the supermarket?

-I only got to the supermarket that has a toilet and if she says she needs a wee, I take her to the toilet.

Would you not just use pullups rather than having them peeing left right and centre?

-No. She's not peeing left right and centre, just peeing like a normal small child. Thank you for taking such an active interest.

I have 2 kids and can only think of 1 occasion where 1 of them needed a wee when we couldn't get to a toilet and that was on a long journey in the wilds of the west of Ireland.

-Well done you.

bloodyplanes · 04/06/2022 16:49

hassletassle · 04/06/2022 14:18

@bloodyplanes - If you take a portable potty what do you do with the wee in the potty? Do you take it home?

No they have bags with absorbable pads in them that absorb the liquid. They then go in the bin.

DemelzaandRoss · 04/06/2022 17:10

Yanbu.

angelikacpickles · 04/06/2022 17:19

I have never in my life seen a child poo in bushes at a park or anywhere else. I'm sure it happens occasionally but I really don't think it is quite the epidemic you are making out OP.

camelfinger · 04/06/2022 17:29

i prefer if mine don’t, but have no problem with a quick wee. No one ever clears up dog wee. And if a child did a pop but the parents cleaned it up, that’s no different to clearing up a dog poo, so fine with that if it’s urgent.

dottymac · 04/06/2022 17:34

Lots of parks don't have toilets nearby. Youngsters aren't always reliable/able to wait. Should we just never go out then?! 😑

Iloveychildrenandmydoggie · 04/06/2022 17:40

Well aren't you a Ray of sunshine!!Have three children and taken numerous children out over the years.. have never known them or any of their friends poo in bushes!!Very strange that you come across this regularly!!

Iloveychildrenandmydoggie · 04/06/2022 17:42

FWIW I do occasionally piss behind a bush when out dog walking...weak bladder and my urine is sterile along with my dogs!

HereIAmBrainTheSizeOfAPlanet · 04/06/2022 17:47

And you know what they're doing in the bush, how?

Hmm
Nursejackie1 · 04/06/2022 17:57

oh come on.. as if all day everyday there is an endless procession of toddlers pooing in a parks bush. What a load of crap! I’ve got kids, spent hours upon hours in parks with them and I have never ever seen this. You are getting the wrong end of the stick or massively over exaggerating seeing it happen once. Echoing others… stop watching toddlers going into bushes for whatever reason… it’s really weird. I’m sure you can find better ways to spend your time.

Fizbosshoes · 04/06/2022 18:15

My DC are tween/teen and as far as I can remember, DD didn't really do outdoor wees, DS did on numerous occasions. I know neither have ever been for an outdoor poo, and I'm pretty sure it's not a regular occurrence.

Neither of the 2 parks that were within walking distance had toilets to use. One had toilets about 10 min walk away, the other had none closer than home which was 15 ish min walk.

However anyone who spends all day watching parents take little kids for a wee or poo in bushes probably needs a hobby, maybe bird watching?

DockOTheBay · 04/06/2022 18:17

Wee - not a problem.
Poo - they should pick it up, same as dogs

I have two young kids and I've never seen someone take their child to wee in a bush, so I think you might be exaggerating somewhere.
