What a faffadoodledo. Over two hours it says. More like over two DAYS! Please share the recipes you wish you'd never started, just to make me feel less of an idiot for embarking on this kitchen odyssey.

Well perhaps my guests are super polite, but it was a success! Quite surpassingly delicious actually. Still not worth the hassle however!

I ended up trying jubilee trifle at a garden party yesterday and it was actually lovely (or maybe my friend’s just a good cook!) and really refreshing. I think she did a mixture of homemade bits and shop bought, and then crumbled meringue on top instead of the big shards.

A few on my Facebook have made it and it looks amazing! I’d definitely be doing some short cuts but I bet it’s absolutely delicious made from scratch

There was one tiny portion left this evening (it served 11 of us last night). And I'm afraid I didn't share it with DH. It was even more delicious as a leftover!
