It's June and I'm lighting a fire! Is it just me?!

I was putting the washing out barefoot and in a t-shirt and jeans at 7am

Leeds. I've just lit the wood burner. I'd like to complain about the weather, but I don't know to whom.😀

mnnewbie111 · 02/06/2022 18:03

Ey? We're in the garden and I've just gone to west something lighter as I'm so hot. I was cold last night to be fair tho

mnnewbie111 · 02/06/2022 18:04

West?? Don't even know what I meant to write there

I looked it up out of interest as it's warm down here and the MET office is saying it's currently 18, top of 19?

42isthemeaning · 02/06/2022 18:05

I've been to York today and it was warm. I had short sleeves as did everyone else I saw. Where are you, op?

smith19784 · 02/06/2022 18:05

I'm in Manchester. I've been thinking today that it's taking ages for summer to arrive this year. Very disappointing

mycatisannoying · 02/06/2022 18:07

16 where I am. Yes, I'm cold.
Thank God for my Oodie and heated blanket.

SquigglePigs · 02/06/2022 18:08

I'm in the Midlands and it's been glorious today but I had to put the heating in for a bit on Monday and Tuesday so yeah, all a bit mad!

Onwards22 · 02/06/2022 18:32

Cornwall here - it’s been absolutely boiling! One of the hottest days this year.

But I’m feeling freezing now I’m at home so I’ve had to put my fluffy socks and thick dressing gown on.

I would never put my heating on at this time of year.

Camomila · 02/06/2022 18:34

It's warm here in the South East...I took the DC for a run around the park in just trousers and t-shirts around 4pm and they both had bright red faces after 5 minutes.

dementedpixie · 02/06/2022 18:36

Warm where I am in Scotland. I have my denim shorts on and a tshirt

Bumptious22 · 02/06/2022 18:36

Marmite27 · 02/06/2022 17:57

It’s been cold in Yorkshire. DH dressed the kids for a day out and put them in shorts. I told him to put leggings in the bag.

He returned with two cold, crying children.

😬😁 yup, I'm not far from North Yorks. We haven't had any sign of summer! Normally by now would have been in the garden but barely braved it this year. Am still as pale as anything and teeth chattering today!
Am very jealous of reports elsewhere!

Gorgeously sunny and warm (more than 20 degrees) in North Cornwall,

dementedpixie · 02/06/2022 18:38

YerAWizardHarry · 02/06/2022 17:18

North East Scotland and we sat out the back this afternoon in T-shirts and had washing on the line all day!

My washing has also been out today. Also in Scotland

TheYearOfSmallThings · 02/06/2022 18:40

It's warm enough in London - you definitely wouldn't need a fire.

QuestionableMouse · 02/06/2022 18:47

Definitely cooler today. Been out with friends and we ended up coming home a bit earlier because the wind off the sea was freezing.

It's not.
I'm 10 miles from Leeds. It's saying 13 on my garden thermometer.
It's grey and chilly. I've just put the heating on for half an hour
I'm cold!

Trafficjamlog · 02/06/2022 18:49

London is ok. Nothing to get excited about but t-shirt weather

AuntieMarys · 02/06/2022 18:51

Cold here in Yorkshire. I have a big chunky cardi and alpaca socks on. Oh and a throw.

Isaidnoalready · 02/06/2022 18:54

Sadly my boiler has packed up so yes it's just you 😂

EmilyBolton · 02/06/2022 18:55

North west…on the other side of t’pennines from the Yorkshire lasses, and it’s bloody freezing in my house. Reads 12 degrees on thermometer. I went out side around midday and it was ok, but hardly more than warm. About 2 hours ago clouded over…dark enough to have lights on at 6pm and a bit of drizzle. But it’s still dark, and cold and I have my sweat top on and quilt over me

I have a wedding to attend on Saturday. In east anglia. Forecast is for a high of 16. I’ve a summer dress and I’m going to be fecking freezing especially in evening when it’s going down to 9 degrees and rain. Can I take my thick winter coat?

SuziSecondLaw · 02/06/2022 18:57

Yep, we're looking forward to lighting the log burner... Only had one or two nights without it so far this year 😳 dp and I are very slim (scrawny) and very nesh though!

MindPrison · 02/06/2022 18:59

Ha! You've all given me permission now.
I've made a fire but not lit it, being stoic with my fleeces on but if you're all having one I'm lighting mine.

maddiemookins16mum · 02/06/2022 19:07

Kent, lovely and warm today, currently not a cloud in the sky, all the doirs and windows open. Perfect early summer day.
