Neighbour has truly annoyed us

Me and DP don't live together, so this has happened at her house. Her NDN garden backs onto her garden and in lockdown they removed their garden panel and the neighbour next to them so they could sit in their gardens and talk. Anyway after lockdown they put a panel back but I was much smaller so could see over it.

Anyway the other day my DP went out, came home and NDN and some other guy were in her garden, had replaced one of her fences and posts without her permission and done a total bodge job. It's higher than all the others, he's wedged some other kind of wood in a large gap, put these 3 wooden batons randomly at the bottom on the panel on her side, then he must of walked further in her garden and wedged some more wood in a panel where a gap must have been. It looks awful!!
I'm so angry for her and she's also really upset and annoyed. However she's too polite to say anything and I believe he knows that.

Aside from this he's also sent her a highly inappropriate text a few months ago which completely damaged any friendly neighbourship they had. He also has a wife who told him he was highly inappropriate too.

This man has fallen out with most of the neighbourhood and I can see why!

Albu to go knock on his door and told him to sort the fence out. Or just sort it ourselves?

She knows about the texts and blackmail is illegal

So you're taking his word for it that she knows about the texts too? Neither the @Cheeseandbiscuits2 or her partner have spoken to the wife to confirm she knows.

As for blackmail I'm sure the police would be really interested lol

girlmom21 · 29/05/2022 13:17

@DimplesToadfoot oh that's ok then if the police won't be interested - like petty theft, minor assault, domestic abuse?

If the police aren't bothered let's just do what we want.

Lol I've sure rattled your cage, bless you! I've said nothing about Domestic Abuse, petty theft or Minor Assault, that's on you if you feel that way.

Tell you what if you're that bothered and het up about blackmail I'll change my statement just for you, so you can feel special.

@Cheeseandbiscuits2 I'll be telling him to fix the fence properly ot you'll be going to the police for criminal damage, then show his wife the texts regardless if whether or not he fixes the fence :-)

LIZS · 29/05/2022 13:32

Police will consider it a civil case.

girlmom21 · 29/05/2022 13:41

@DimplesToadfoot you haven't rattled my cage - I just think it's irresponsible to encourage people to break the law for your own entertainment.

Where as I think your comments directed at me are nothing but entertainment to you, You're trying to goad me and its not going to work, now as your comments and now mine are not helpful to @Cheeseandbiscuits2 I'm going to bow out and leave you to find someone else to play with, Have a good day :-)

Apologies to @Cheeseandbiscuits2

getoutofheree · 29/05/2022 13:58

And who are you to tell him to do that exactly?

HarrietSchulenberg · 29/05/2022 13:59

If it's definitely you dp's fence I'd just buy a £30 fence panel in a style of my choosing and install it, making sure I returned all the bits of botched repair that belong to the neighbour by means of shoving it all back in his garden.

Blowthemandown · 29/05/2022 14:14

If it’s her fence, take down the panel and put in a new one, ensuring it looks the same on the neighbour’s side. If she wants, she should explain to DN’s wife it looks awful on her side and she just wants it even etc. She can show the wife how bad it looks. No need to deal with idiot husband.

NOYFB.

We bumped into him today at a community event. Was highly awkward.
He acted normal like he had never sent that awkward text. My DP asked me before if we bumped into him I wouldn't say anything for her sake. I agreed so didn't say anything but didn't make conversation.

Anyway my DP politely brought up the fence and only mentioned the lower fence part. Anyway he said he wasn't sure if the small panel can be moved as it may have been wedged in by the other bodged panel he put in! I was biting my tongue so hard.
