To think this government

have just set out ways for their rich friends and themselves to become richer, any policies that would interfere with that process are binned and now that they have these policies in place they can sit back and not worry about the poor middle class losing their disposable income.

30 more billionaires have been made in the last 2 years, so whilst the country is supposedly struggling how and what are people becoming richer? the divide is growing bigger between rich and poor and the middle class are going to have a shock when earning £50k a year is not enough to pay the bills, having to go to a one car family instead of two and watch every penny they spend.

am I being unreasonable to think this was the plan, stuff the man int he street and only look after the ultra wealthy

There also appears to be a stitch up between the government and the right wing press that allows Johnson to get away with it, again and again

its called Murdoch and has been around for a long time, Murdoch didn't like Major and was seen meeting Blair....

They are all awful and they clearly think the electorate are stupid. But they will lose in a land slide at the next election. I’m ashamed to say I voted for them in the last election because I didn’t want JC to get in. I can’t believe how stupid I was and I will never EVER vote conservative ever again. I’m confident that there will be a lot of other people out there like me who have finally seen the light.

Joanwilderbeast Your post is scary, mainly because I also think there is something really drastic going on, a re set, rinse whatever it might be called. Too much weirdness going on all at once and the mightily rich are getting richer and richer.

Cheesecakeandwineinasuitcase can I ask what you had against jc? Im not a fan as he is so far left and Im more liberal but voted labour as our local MP is really good

The corruption of this government knows no bounds. It starts at the top and cascades right down through the tory MPs barring a few decent ones.
By siding with Boris Johnson they think they are saving their jobs but no one is fooled and the price will be paid at the polls in the end. Shame on our MPs. They are paid to do the bidding of their constituents and instead they are ignoring them.

Happygirl79 · 26/05/2022 21:25

I've contacted my local MP regarding Johnson several times but he just trots out the blurb he had to spin. Never again will he get my vote

Ivy, it was fear of the unknown I think. I saw JC as more left wing than any other Labour leader I remember and worried about what that could mean - I was worried about some of the changes he might have made that could have impacted on me financially and also particularly on national security I was really worried that he would cut funding and scrap Trident which is something I am dead against. The Trident issue was my main concern.

As much as I hate BJ and the circus if a Government we have in power now I do wonder how well JC would have handled the pandemic and roll out of the vaccine. I have vowed never to vote Tory again however so at the next election I will be voting Lib Dem tactically in order to get the Tories out. To me they have veered into being a party on the extreme right of the political spectrum and I’m really uncomfortable with that.

For anyone who is interested you can look up online to see how to vote tactically in order to get the Tories out depending on which area you live in. I will be extremely surprised if they win another election after this fiasco.

I'm well aware of Murdoch op. I was referring more specifically to Johnson and Gove and their respective backgrounds as journalists. The Times is virtually Gove's mouthpiece nowadays. And Johnson seems to have fingers in many journalistic pies and runs the government looking for the next soundbite eg today's £400 pay out is a classic example, replacing all the stories about party gate with news of a windfall. It's so blatant it's laughable!

Aye fuck the idea of helping poorer people a bit more, eh?

you would have probably benefited from a cap on utilities being more stringent and Tory’s have implemented some of JC plans, so your worries were probably furled by MSM

I agree that they don't seem to care anymore about what people think. They are openly dishonest and corrupt, acting as if they have nothing to lose.

The left helps the poor? More like, the left creates the poor.

bottleofbeer · 06/06/2022 23:36

Yeah, most of us got onto this years ago.

RedHorsesAreDangerous · 06/06/2022 23:49

Not unreasonable at all. Cronyism on a scale even the Grantham Harpy would have balked at.

Keep an eye on when they all start getting on those one way private charter flights to New Zealand to take up residence in their bunkers. It'll be a surefire sign that the end is here, never mind nigh.

ivykaty44 · 07/06/2022 06:49

yet there were just 26 thousand food banks in 2010 and now Tory’s celebrate opening up food banks and there are 2.56 million in 2020

poverty rates were 15% in 2010 compared to 28 % in 2022
