Oh these are just awful 😂 I thought DS was bad but I don’t think (or at least I have never seen!) him eat anything quite as gross as some of these.

We did take him to a farm yesterday and he was quite happily snacking on the animal feed meant for the sheep and llamas and goats though!

Carpedimum · 22/05/2022 21:58

They sell them for human consumption in Selfridges, so I wouldn’t worry at all. It’s only a matter of time before insects are a ‘normal’ part of the western diet, although probably unrecognisable through processing, which actually revolts me more.

1940s · 22/05/2022 22:17

A 6 year old did this?!

WeAllHaveWings · 22/05/2022 22:21

Chewing gum from under the chairs in a waiting area, think he was about 3 at the time and I took my eye off him for 10 seconds 🤮🤮🤮🤮

2beesornot2beesthatisthehoney · 22/05/2022 22:33

I once tried the cat food . Just a few years ago and commented about it on here. Grin
often wondered what the mealworms taste like . Please ask him and let me know - more Grin s .

ps the cat food was very bland and was the posh stuff which looked like real chicken breast. Haven’t tried the fish version yet!

bluebeach · 22/05/2022 22:44

I used to look at the bag of meal worm we had for the birds and really crave eating them. Think we must have in the distant past. There’s a bug place in South Wales where you can eat bug burgers and wraps. Great source of protein

JudgementalCentipede · 22/05/2022 22:57

My 15-month-old likes sucking on my (used) foam earplugs 🤮

Why are kids so disgusting?! Mine wees in the bath. Then takes the flannel that is floating in wee water and sucks and drinks the water from the flannel 😑

omg one of mine used to do this, and laugh cos he thought it was hilarious 😂

StepAwayFromGoogling · 22/05/2022 23:05

Not me, my brother. When he was a child Mum found him eating peas and sweetcorn out of the drain outside the back door. Grim.

My dd found a suspicious item on her kitchen floor and she licked it.
It was a dried slug...
Dd was 30..
She can't explain wtf she did it!!

There are no words... but thanks for sharing it's going to take a while for that image to leave me 🤣

Nearly throwing up at this but can't stop reading!

These aren't as gross but certainly not recommended ..

Caught DD nibbling a firelighter age 2
was horrified but she was OK.kept them out of reach after that.

My sister ate soap. It was a brown Teddy bear shaped soap and she thought it was chocolate.

I misread this as “…caught dd nibbling a firefighter…”, @MissPeregrinesHome - and thought ‘you go girl!

Whooshaagh · 22/05/2022 19:20

My dd used to lick the train windows.
Revolting!

My DD still does this. 🤦‍♀️

SouperNoodle · 22/05/2022 23:48

My 2yo loves eating her bogies. Whenever I tell her to stop or say that it's yucky, she replies "no mummy, it's deeeeeeeliciois!" 🤢

Oceanus · 23/05/2022 00:17

I know a kid who was fascinated by poop. As a 3 y.o. she'd stand by her potty after pooing, pick it up with her hands, smell it and put it in her mouth. I was told it was "to see if it's related to chocolate and tastes similar".

elliejjtiny · 23/05/2022 00:21

DS1 tried to swallow a 2 pound coin once. He wasn't even a toddler, he was nearly 10 Confused.

My youngest wees in the bath and the eldest sucks the flannel. Utterly vile

Girlmama · 23/05/2022 07:03

When eldest DD was about a year and a bit she picked up a half chewed Haribo from the train floor and ate it. Reader......it was not her Haribo.
That was the day I stopped stressing about sterilising evetything she put in her mouth!

Mynameisnotsweetheartordarling · 23/05/2022 07:53

feel so much better now

My then 2 y/o DS sat quietly at the side of me, eating a fromage frais, as I was getting his big brother (who was full of cold) ready for bed.I'd put down the Vicks (large full jar) and hadn't put the lid on as big brother was wriggling and messing on. Finished buttoning his pyjamas and turned to see 2 y/o spooning vicks into his mouth- jar nearly empty. Earned himself a trip to hospital for monitoring because the vicks contained camphor and something else- he was fine, few greasey poops- but who on earth would taste vicks and go in for secconds and thirds???

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 25/05/2022 20:41

Kids really are gross aren't they 🤣

CorsicaDreaming · 25/05/2022 21:28

@SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius

"I misread this as “…caught dd nibbling a firefighter…”, @MissPeregrinesHome - and thought ‘you go girl!"

Now that would be a lot more relatable! 😂
