Mine at coal a few times. Real and synthetic stuff.

They are such strange creatures, children.

my nan always says that coal was her craving when pregnant

My toddler loves to eat snot, earwax and sleep from her eyes…

SenoraAveiro · 22/05/2022 20:04

DD ate a big scab off of the floor of the GP surgery. And licked milky puke off her brother's chin.

That’s so disgusting 🤯😂

Greydogs123 · 22/05/2022 20:09

Have you ever smelt mealworms? They smell remarkably like cooked bacon, so I can sort of see why a kid would have a taste. Did you ask him if he enjoyed them?

SRK16 · 22/05/2022 20:16

This thread is amazing but so grim. My son ate a lump of tried bird shit off the garden bench when he was 1.

MermaidSwimming · 22/05/2022 20:18

Dsis ate a fag butt and ds ate a snail

grannybiker · 22/05/2022 20:21

Our daughter, quick as a flash, grabbed and ate the umbilical cord stump that fell off during a nappy change she was closely watching

Rosebel · 22/05/2022 20:26

My DD2 used to eat mud but only when we were at my parents house in France. Apparently the mud in grandads garden was "so yummy."

@SenoraAveiro

That has given me the most appalling feeling in my stomach. I've read a lot of minging stuff on here but Good Lord! 🤢🤢🤢

polkadotpixie · 22/05/2022 20:37

I ate a worm as a toddler. I'm actually a vegetarian now 😂

Grim but not in the realms of the GP floor scab or umbilical cord stump...they definitely win!

FrangipaniBlue · 22/05/2022 20:40

Not DS but me....... I used to eat sand out of my sandpit 😅

Loopytiles · 22/05/2022 20:42

😀at Finalcountdowntoourtripaway’s slug eating 30yo DD!

Mine, at a nerf gun party place, bit into a blue paintball ball thinking it was gobstopper-like gum. Mouth full of paint/ink, yuck.

LemonDrizzles · 22/05/2022 20:45

We once found a small bright pink owl eraser in my dd poo. To this day the rest of the owl eraser are well out of reach

moggerhanger · 22/05/2022 20:48

DD ate rabbit poo at a National Trust place. To be fair, she was about 8 months old and the only small round brown things she'd encountered up to then had been raisins.

BarbaraofSeville · 22/05/2022 20:48

Aren't mealworms one of the likely planet saving meat alternatives that we'll all be eating in the future?

moggerhanger · 22/05/2022 20:49

I always think they smell like pork scratchings. (Which I love!)

Clovacloud · 22/05/2022 20:52

When DD was 4, we were on the Tube. I took my eyes off her for a second and turned round to find her licking the grab pole. Somehow she is still alive at 19, I have no idea how.

Shlomping1234 · 22/05/2022 20:54

When my daughter was a baby, she had an awful cold and woke with a huge toffee coloured snob around her nose. I went to get tissue to clean her up, and returned to her lovely clean face and her toddler brother happily chewing her giant snob 🤣

TinaYouFatLard · 22/05/2022 20:55

We were visiting DH at work and I thought DS was stuffing his mouth with raisins - when I checked he had a mouth full
of drawing pins with little bobbles he’d taken off a pinboard.

lljkk · 22/05/2022 20:56

My babies shouldn't have been left unattended nappy free. I'll say no more.

T'Internet says mealworms are pretty lacking flavour, so probably won't be tried again unless the crunchy ones are quite nice texture.

maddiemookins16mum · 22/05/2022 19:42

DD ate dried white dog poo.

My friend and I talked about white dog poo the last few days. We wrote our names in the street in it thinking it was chalk. For weeks Envy

MissPeregrinesHome · 22/05/2022 21:02

Nearly throwing up at this but can't stop reading!

These aren't as gross but certainly not recommended ..

Caught DD nibbling a firelighter age 2
was horrified but she was OK.kept them out of reach after that.

My sister ate soap. It was a brown Teddy bear shaped soap and she thought it was chocolate.

IstayedForTheFeminism · 22/05/2022 21:06

DS2 ate mealworms once. Only 2 or 3. He wanted to know what they tasted like so I told him to try 1. They "taste like nothing but have a nice crunch" apparently.

And to the PP who said 6 was too old to do that, my ds was more like 10/11.

He also helped himself to some raw sausage once. He managed about half before I noticed Shock

Worriedandconfused23 · 22/05/2022 21:21

Not my child but that of a friends. Said friend called me in horror to say her daughter had sucked on the toilet brush in a public toilet while mum was changing her younger sibling. I'd just had my own pfb and I do vividly remember us considering whether a trip to a&e may be required...God knows what I thought they'd do.
