To be Angry that NHS losing Vaccine Record?

Notmytiep · 19/05/2022 10:44

The NHS has lost my DH vaccine records. He's had 2 doses and can't get a certificate because they just can't find the record. He's rang 119 and they said they're working on resolving the issue but I have little faith. I just don't get how they can lose his records?

Has this happened to anyone??

And we we're gonna get pour boosters but how is he meant to get it if they cant find his first 2 vaccine record?

We're due to travel to Spain end of June and I don't think they accept non vaccinated travellers. I'm panicking now cuz I really want to go on holiday :(

I’d change your holiday to somewhere that accepts unvaccinated if I were you. I wouldn’t hold my breath for his records being found in time.

MrsSkylerWhite · 19/05/2022 10:47

Did he keep his cards?

Madamecastafiore · 19/05/2022 10:53

Was it not on the nhs app? Ours were updated on there. DS went for his second and they'd failed to input his first (he had the physical card so could prove he'd had one) so was reluctant to give his second but eventually did. Someone from CCG had to sort it after we brought it up with our GP. When they give the jab it's updated on the system so I think there's just some sort of misunderstanding or glitch as it's unlikely that logging his vaccine would have been overlooked by 2 different clinicians months apart.

Notmytiep · 19/05/2022 11:21

@MrsSkylerWhite He lost his cards unfortunately. I should have just taken it away from him and kept them tbh.

@Madamecastafiore That's how we knew his record was lost cuz we tried to get it on the NHS app and he got an error message saying records not found contact 119.

@Aposterhasnoname sigh :(

As someone who works in this field (covid vacc dq) this happens quite frequently in NHS England but seems to be resolved fairly simply each time. Getting his booster might actually help with understanding where his records are recorded.

You think? So would they not ask him about his first 2? Well I'm gonna book his booster and see if that works then.

This happened to my dp with his second dose he just needed to call them with the batch number from the card and the location and they updated his records. It showed almost immediately on his nhs app, were also travelling the end of June to Spain so we're keen to get it sorted. Although I notice you say his lost his card does he not have a photo of it or anything with the numbers on? Calling them and advising of the date and vaccination centre may help?

Another issue I've realised is that my name on my nhs app and passport is different does anyone know if that matters? I changed my name by deed poll and don't have my documents back from my kids passport renewals as yet and stressing about it looking like 2 different people!

PronounMadness · 19/05/2022 11:30

It matters. You need to get the name changed on your Covid pass.

I think if you travel with some form a proof of your name change it shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah it matters. They won’t accept you with it. You need to get the covid pass changed into whichever name is on your passport . I’m in Spain at the minute and they are very strict. On my flight there was a woman that came and the covid pass was in her maiden name and passport in married name. She didn’t have proof of being married so was sent back.

Wow...I've seen on a Spain travel website that if you don't have a COVID pass etc you can take an antigen/PCR test and fill out a form on the website, do you know if that's true?

@CharlotteRose90 thanks I'll look into getting it changed with my GP.

KangarooKenny · 19/05/2022 11:54

I agree, I’d swap to Greece. I wouldn’t hold your breath for finding the first two.

Scianel · 19/05/2022 11:55

No unfortunately not the case OP, you need to be vaccinated and/or boosted within 270 days of travel. No testing option. This will remain inforce till at least 15 June when it will be reviewed but obviously no guarantee that it will be changed then.

Is there any way you can move the holiday to elsewhere? Most other sun destinations will allow you in with a test or even without checks now.

Vie8126 · 19/05/2022 11:58

@Notmytiep im not going to lie the entry requirements have confused me a tad and we've had many opinions on what they mean! My daughter is 13 and not vaccinated so it says she can have a pcr test within 72hrs of going or have had covid within the last 6 months and complete a form which is what your post says but I'm not sure it's the same for adults?

Scianel · 19/05/2022 12:01

It's different for teens, they can go in with a test but not adults.

Floorandflooringme · 19/05/2022 12:11

This happened to my twins with first dose. I ended up ringing the covid team within my ccg (just rang ccg switchboard and asked for covid team). They rang the team where they'd had the vaccine and 48 hours later it was on system (119 were useless and I asked for a manager to ring me they rang 3 months later!)

Scianel · 19/05/2022 12:12

This is quite a useful guide of where your DH can and can't go if you don't get the issue resolved.

Vie8126 · 19/05/2022 12:14

@Scianel yes that's what I thought 12 to 17 year old are different to adults and different again for under 12s etc.

you need to be jabbed and ideally boosted or have a recovery pass from covid within the last 6 months. You can’t travel for a holiday without being vaccinated. If it’s work yes for a holiday no. I had a recovery pass as my 2nd jab was out of date and all fine.

Jerabilis · 19/05/2022 12:30

I get that it’s frustrating but have you never ever made a single mistake at work or had a single IT issue?

ittakes2 · 19/05/2022 12:35

If they don't have his records...then you would be able to book the booster as his first jab and then hopefully before your trip they will sort it out.

Thank you. I think changing our holiday will be the best option.

I had this, it's up to your gp surgery.
They will deny it and try to fob you off with 119.
Go directly to the practice manager and make a nuisance of yourself.
I spent days back and forth with receptionists, 119, the bloody vaccination centre etc.
You'll get posters come along telling you how the poor lambs are overstretched etc. BUT this is their responsibility.
