To be Angry that NHS losing Vaccine Record?

Notmytiep · 19/05/2022 10:44

The NHS has lost my DH vaccine records. He's had 2 doses and can't get a certificate because they just can't find the record. He's rang 119 and they said they're working on resolving the issue but I have little faith. I just don't get how they can lose his records?

Has this happened to anyone??

And we we're gonna get pour boosters but how is he meant to get it if they cant find his first 2 vaccine record?

We're due to travel to Spain end of June and I don't think they accept non vaccinated travellers. I'm panicking now cuz I really want to go on holiday :(

@Notmytiep you can get it sorted honestly it's taken a while for my dp but when he got the call they found him on the vaccination centre records for that day but somehow it had missed going on his records. They didn't recignise the name of the centre as he was giving it the actual location name (for example the town hall building in xyz Town) but I just had to look on mine as was vaxd in the same place for the 'correct' name and they soon found it. Keep trying before changing your destination it isn't impossible.

I don't think you have to be vaccinated for mainland Spain, as they had two options on the Spanish Gov health website when we looked into it. Vaccinated people don't have to do a locator form, whereas unvaccinated people do. Not sure if you have to do a test as well.

You do still as it stands (or a recovery cert), here's the YouGov advice:

"If you are traveling to Spain for tourism you must show valid proof of one of the following:
being fully vaccinated (with both doses of a two-dose vaccine or one dose of a one-dose vaccine) at least 14 days prior to arrival in Spain (date(s) of vaccination must be specified). See ‘If you’re fully vaccinated’.
having recovered from COVID-19 in the last 6 months. You can also use a medical certificate or recovery record to prove your COVID-19 status on entry to Spain. See ‘If you’ve had COVID-19 in the past year’."

www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/spain/entry-requirements

As I said above though, it does look like it might hopefullly be changing shortly.

Honestly OP, I’d just switch to somewhere like Greece or another country that accepts unvaccinated travellers and be grateful for the change. I have family in Spain who are desperate for the policy to change and borders to open in line with other European countries as they have noticed tourist numbers right down this year - I think most people just can’t be bothered with the nonsense anymore and are voting with their feet. Others who have visited recently said its hard to relax and enjoy your holiday as they are so strict, so it may be a lucky escape for you!

NHS lost my covid booster record back in December. I had to call 119 option 4 and get a callback from the vaccine data resolution service. They looked up the records for the centre I had it at, and found out they'd incorrectly logged it as being the day after I actually went, which caused a data mismatch. Took a week or so to sort out though.

@Notmytiep good news, change to Spain entry criteria is confirmed now:

I would attack it from all angles, GP Practice manager, ccg, 119. And once I rang the covid booking service aswell, when I had a problem about something else, I'd ring them too.

Oblomov22 · 21/05/2022 16:58

Even if you weren't going on holiday personally I would still want my Covid records to be correct so I would follow this up myself.

OP I've just had this with DD. I applied for a Covid Pass for her but they said they had no record of her vaccinations despite her having had two (she is 14). first time I applied I immediately got a text saying they couldn't issue the pass. Second time I applied I got one for me but not for her, third time I was told that if I did not get a text straight away they would be issuing the pass. Have I had it? Of course not.

I spoke to the GP, the school nurse and the school vaccination team. The upshot was that the GP had no record of the vaccinations. I gave them the dates and the batch numbers from her card and they updated manually. The school vaccination team did have a record.

I eventually solved it by downloading the NHS app on to DDs phone and lo and behold her vaccinations were there so I printed them off.

119 are useless.

If your DH doesn't have the NHS app try downloading it.

Good luck!!
