I'm exhausted

3rd child came down with the pox. I haven't slept in over a month. I've Been awake for 24h straight.

Whilst DH sleeps soundly in the other bedroom as he's got work tomorrow and he's useless when tired anyway so I'm stuck in between 2 crying children

Anyone else? Please make me feel like I'm not alone in this shit

Because I'm in the house alone (rarely happens).

Ruibies · 17/05/2022 01:38

My 5 day old baby is cluster feeding, I think. He is formula fed but has been on a mad one since this afternoon. DH took first shift tonight and I took over at 1. Baby is now finally sleeping in my arms and I'm wondering if it's worth trying to put him down or if that will just wake him up and start the cycle again. Good thing he's bloody adorable Halo

I don't have children but I regularly stay up rather late and I go to bed when I'm tired.

However since last night, I became ill with sniffles, sneezing, fever and my throat felt weird (not sore) Still feverish now and been putting a cool flannel on my forehead, window wide open to let the air in and drank some hot lemon.

But I feel very relaxed.

Pigtrotters · 17/05/2022 01:47

Toddler isnt sleeping. DH is snoring and I'm feeling increasingly resentful towards him

basketb · 17/05/2022 01:54

Got a nasty bug & the antibiotics are making me feel so sick so despite being exhausted I still can't sleep 🙄

Magnolia08 · 17/05/2022 01:58

Ongoing insomnia, not sure how many nights I've been without sleep now....

hourur · 17/05/2022 03:01

Elsiebear90 · 17/05/2022 03:05

I’m on-call and got called out for an emergency, just in between patients now.

Wakemeup17 · 17/05/2022 03:08

I have summer cold (it's warm where I am). I took some paracetamol at 8pm last night and fell asleep.woke up at 1am and I cannot go back to sleep.

stillawakeat4amagain · 17/05/2022 03:08

Because like a fool I'm sat on the kitchen tiles adjusting the feet on the base unit that we have just finished building (first of them too)....

I accidentally fell asleep at 9 whilst putting ds to bed. DH finished work at half past midnight, locked all the doors and went up then Dd19 was banging on the door at 1am (good cookie finished work at 10 and went out with her friend for a bit). So Dh decides to wake me up because someone is knocking he full well knew dd car was not outside and he had locked her out. I jump out out of bed in shock not knowing what time or who it is open the windows and shout who is it? Found out is dd opens door and can't sleep since. I am fuming with dh as I have work at 7am and never get a good night's sleep unless I accidentally fall asleep whilst putting lo to bed. Why? Why? Why would he do this and nows he's fast asleep upstairs and I've resorted downstairs to the sofa. Dd felt very sorry for me bless her as she got the slight Brunt of it which is making me feel even more shitty.
@hourur hope you feel better soon. X

Miylo · 17/05/2022 03:16

Wow just realised how long my post was I missed the latest replies. Ugh I'm so angry I've got work at 8am toooo😫

Shabbycoconut · 17/05/2022 03:16

Hayfever. It's so bad and I've tried everything. I just want to rip my face off.

StopStartStop · 17/05/2022 03:31

Old woman. Crap sleeping patterns. Nature's way of ensuring someone is awake with the babies in the night, and a body that hasn't caught up with the new ways of doing things.

runnerblade95 · 17/05/2022 03:44

Sciatica. It’s the worst

Rainallnight · 17/05/2022 03:49

Because my daughter holds on to her poo in the day and her body only sufficiently relaxes at night for her to let it go. At which point she wakes me up for the 3am poo. 🙄

Noelsjumper · 17/05/2022 03:56

DD3 asleep on my chest, squeezing my nipple for all it's worth after 2hrs of flapping about trying to get her back to sleep. I used to love this when she was a baby in, the closeness and watching her beautiful face sleep etc. She's not been BF since 5mo but this is still her comfort position when she can't sleep. Trying to remind myself of how much I used to love it and how I'll eventually miss it when she starts sleeping better....then I think of all I need to get done at work tomorrow and try not to resent her shitty sleep because it won't last forever....I hope!

DH asleep beside me, only waking now and again to helpfully advise that I shouldn't be on my phone...

User839516 · 17/05/2022 04:00

DC3 arrived on Thursday and has been awake since 8pm. I didn’t even know newborns could stay awake that long. Having another one seemed like such a good idea…

GillyGumbo · 17/05/2022 04:21

DH woke me at 2.30am, shouting/screaming with one of his nightmares. Now he's snoring and I'm awake, feeling generally a bit fretful.

New migraine medication is making me feel quite low and is affecting my HRT, making me a bit ragey. I have a headache, suggesting new medication not working that well. Anxious about forthcoming Large Blended Family Event and my weight/appearance, not to mention all the other politics that go along with such events.

Theoldwrinkley · 17/05/2022 04:43

It's about 4.30am. We are off on holiday tomorrow. Going to Malta. First time I'm trying to take mobility aids with us. Given the option of going away or having serious surgery, I'd take surgery every time! Why do I get so stressed? DH snoring like a troop of troopers, as he always does. I contacted hotel last week to see if we could book 2 rooms but they are full. So anticipation of next week with no sleep not filling me with joy! Roll on 24th when back too 'normal' discontent.

MinnieMountain · 17/05/2022 04:46

Peri-menopause has kept me awake since 4am. I normally average one crap nights sleep a week but Friday and Sunday were bad too.

Rainallnight · 17/05/2022 08:12

Hope all the non-sleepers are ok today!

Miylo · 17/05/2022 17:22

@Rainallnight I managed to dose off at about 4.30am then lo woke me at 6.30. Just got back from work I'm high as a kite on coffee physically awake and mentally sleeping. (Currently not speaking to OH🤦‍♀️😂) Roll on bedtime. Xx

exhaustedlevel10 · 17/05/2022 21:10

Hope you all managed to get some sleep eventually! ❤️
In the end I was awake until 5am when DH took over and I got a few hours. Dreading tonight already 😂 but I'm armed with donuts & chocolates by my bed X
