I'm exhausted

3rd child came down with the pox. I haven't slept in over a month. I've Been awake for 24h straight.

Whilst DH sleeps soundly in the other bedroom as he's got work tomorrow and he's useless when tired anyway so I'm stuck in between 2 crying children

Anyone else? Please make me feel like I'm not alone in this shit

Off-the-scale snoring from DH. I’m now on the sofa downstairs (not rare) and I can still hear him. Quite concerned it’s so loud tonight he’ll keep DD awake and she has first GCSE tomorrow. Or rather today. Good luck everyone!

Early menopause has completely thrown my body clock out of whack. I am so unbelievably tired all the time 😔

Hope your body settles soon 😩 xx

Me! My DD1 started throwing up 8am this morning. DD2 threw up about 20 minutes ago. I really struggle with sick so much anxiety means I will sit next to her all night now!!

Sorry to hear you are having a rubbish time :-( it's so hard when they are poorly. DD2 had the pox recently too and then we all got covid....literally one thing after another isn't it

Hope everyone manages some 😴

Exactly the same in our household it's one thing after another.
Hope your little ones get better very soon xx

Oh dear 😂 why do they snore louder when everyone in the house needs a good nights sleep.

Good luck to your DC with the GCSE x

Because I went down a rabbit hole on Ancestry.co.uk for a random woman I have no connection with, and genealogy isn’t even a hobby of mine 🤣

I’ve just been worrying myself sick that I’ve lost my work bank card and cardreader today. Wasn’t in my bag when I was going through it last thing.

I’ve just now remembered where I put it in the office thank goodness. Been panicking for the last 2 hours. Came on here to calm down! Hope things get better for you OP.

Ohh glad you remembered and can now hopefully relax and have a good night x

I'm 'at work' (WFH though) till 1am, and then DD will appear in the bedroom at some point between now and 5am clutching her night light and climb into bed with me. I'm 8 months pregnant too and have to keep changing sides as my hips hurt.

You must be knackered @exhaustedlevel10 ! I hope you get some proper rest soon Flowers

Oh hope you can get a few good hours of sleep tonight & good luck with your new addition arriving soon xx

Sorry to hear that OP. 😢 I'm just a slightly ADHD night owl who needs to get to sleep now rather than hanging out online, so I'm not knackered tomorrow.

Somuchgoo · 17/05/2022 00:58

My kid has a brain tumour. It should all be ok in the end, but I find it hard to fall asleep at the moment.

Also, work issues and feeling broke after not working for 3 months (due to tumour), my cat died 2 weeks ago and my elder child is struggling with having a poorly sister and it's leaving to go and stay at the hospital. Oh and we had to inform the school of something worrying my eldest said concerning a teacher, so there's now a safeguarding investigation to make sure nothing untoward happened.

When I sleep I just have really weird nightmares. Its not great.

me4real · 17/05/2022 01:00

Your DH sounds a bit lame OP.

me4real · 17/05/2022 01:02

@Somuchgoo - so sorry to hear that. Hope everything straightens out ASAP. Xxx

HopingForMyRainbowBaby · 17/05/2022 01:03

Cos I'm scrolling through Mumsnet

OooohAhhhh · 17/05/2022 01:03

Been working on my big uni assignment that's due 25th May. Just got into bed. Will carry on tomorrow afternoon when my 3 year old is at nursery.

Wifflywafflywoo · 17/05/2022 01:07

Had a C-section 11 hours ago. DP snoring peacefully on his hospital bed, I'm drinking water like mad in the hope I can pee by 4am so I can go home later today. Clinging onto this 10lb baby and reading Mumsnet 😄

SisterAgatha · 17/05/2022 01:09

Kids ill. I fell asleep next to them, woke at 11, watched Our Father on Netflix and now am in a rabbit hole of googling.

Theawkwardblonde · 17/05/2022 01:10

@exhaustedlevel10 I've just looked in our street and said to DH I envy those asleep 😂
Just fed and changed our 4 month baby. She's full of cold too so naturally I'm sat awake panicking over every snuffle and noise she makes. FTM worries 😂

LemonSwan · 17/05/2022 01:10

We nearly lost our boy on Saturday. Just over 2 weeks old. He vomited so severely he blocked all his airways and couldn’t breathe. Thankfully I decided to rush down to our minor injuries unit who suctioned his airways clear rather than 999 and await an ambulance - as have subsequently found out our town of over 100,000 people does not have a single ambulance! Every one has told us he wouldn’t have made it on 999 - it was 20 minutes blue light on clear roads in the middle of the night on highest priority.

He has been prescribed gaviscon as a thickener but he is so tiny the amount is too much for him and he has been screaming and writhing in inconsolable pain from constipation and have had to reduce the quantity.

So basically watching to make sure he stays alive on this reduced amount and also researching on how to best campaign to get back our ambulance - before COVID we had 4, then 2, then 1 and since last Autumn zero. Shocking.

PatientlyWaiting21 · 17/05/2022 01:12

Wake him up and tell him it’s his turn! I never understand this nonsense, you might not be going to a place of work but you do need to function and look after others.

SparklyAntlers · 17/05/2022 01:15

I’m up with a cough and sweating buckets because I’m giving the kids’ steamer a go to try to ease it - it’s not working! DS - who brought this plague into the house last week - is fast asleep beside me.

Sunshineandrainbow · 17/05/2022 01:16

Finished work at 1am

SparklyAntlers · 17/05/2022 01:16

That sounds like far too much for one person to be dealing with @Somuchgoo , I hope you are able to talk to someone, or at the very least getting your thoughts down on paper to ward off the dreams. I wish you restful sleep soon x

weightedblanketofshame · 17/05/2022 01:29

I literally just googled "why can't I sleep"! Started falling asleep on the sofa at 10pm so decided to go to bed early for once and suddenly it's been 3.5 hours. Somehow both utterly exhausted and wide awake at the same time. Not uncommon for me though – I blame ADHD.

rea2022x · 17/05/2022 01:31

Feeding 8 week old DD!

blueshoes · 17/05/2022 01:34

I am working from home. I get my best work done in the early hours of the night as it is too distracting during the day.

ListenLinda · 17/05/2022 01:35

Congratulations @Wifflywafflywoo!

i’m awake as DS has decided he wanted to wake up at 11.30pm and go back to sleep at 1am. We got rid of the last of his ‘baby’ things today and think he needs time to adjust.
it takes me forever to get back to sleep, so here I am.
