If money was no issue, what work would you do?

Stressful week at work!

I think I’d set up a little food business/buy a small cafe and do a ‘one meal feeds two’ idea where one person’s regular priced meal funds a second one for someone in need. Obvs wouldn’t be profitable so hence the ‘money not being an issue’

Nobody else is going to go for this option but I'd actually love to own a soft play centre. I just can't work out how they're so lucrative, other than the food and drink prices!

Simonjt · 13/05/2022 19:03

I’d go back to playing rugbt full time. I loved playing fulltime, plus you still have a lot of time to persue other things.

DazzlePaintedBattlePants · 13/05/2022 19:06

My exact same job but I’d move to live a 5-10 min cycle ride away, with all the money that is no object.

NippyWoowoo · 13/05/2022 19:06

Might go back to being an SEN TA, but part-time.

My ideal working hours for any job would be 10-4, 3 days a week. 4 at a push.

(I currently do 6 full days on average)

LetitiaLeghorn · 13/05/2022 19:07

Zippo.

BobHadBitchTits · 13/05/2022 19:08

Something where I can cuddle newborns.

A professional newborn cuddler.

Hollyhead · 13/05/2022 19:08

I’d be a gardener. People say it’s not as good in winter but presumably I’d be able to afford top quality waterproofs!

ohfook · 13/05/2022 19:09

An author

PrawnToast5 · 13/05/2022 19:10

Bakery with cafe and art gallery/ bookshop attached selling local art and books 😋

Iwanttenofthose · 13/05/2022 19:10

I worked in animal rescue for a long time and it was awful - I left for the sake of my mental health as well as my safety. The reality can be pretty grim. Rescuing animals will always be part of my life but it's completely different doing it for work for the big charities.

I'd have a little bookshop and cafe.

RampantIvy · 13/05/2022 19:10

What I do now. I love my job. I get on so well with the people I work with and I sometimes socialise with them. They aren't work colleagues, they are workmates.

GettingItOutThere · 13/05/2022 19:14

I would open a kids soft play, with an amazing cafe, indoor and outdoor play.

I would also have a petting zoo attached with a train ride through the land

Oneforallforone · 13/05/2022 19:17

@ReallyIrish I worked in retail for a long time and often thought about opening a business which didn't say the customer was right everytime! I'd be fair but firm and not just give in to the obvious piss takers and the moaners!

But to answer the question, I'd like to be a private chef. And adopt rescue cats.

FriedTomatoe · 13/05/2022 19:18

I love my job. My issue is that it's really hard work and I love the idea of sitting at home reading books, pottering and cleaning my house. Not sure if I could combine the two.

motherofchihuahuas · 13/05/2022 19:20

Florist

dropthevipers · 13/05/2022 19:20

I am one of the luckiest people as I get to design and make bespoke furniture, which I would do even if I was a millionaire. Doing something I love means I dont have to work a single day.

Theunamedcat · 13/05/2022 19:21

Cat cafe and I would take my cats to work

NearlyHeadlessNick · 13/05/2022 19:25

Ooh I love this game after a stressful work week.

I'd love to work in a library.
Volunteer at the food bank.
Take up carpentry.

bluesapphire48 · 13/05/2022 19:26

I'd be a librarian again or own a bookstore. While I was teaching, I got a degree in library science and worked for a year as a school librarian, but the principal in that school was so horrible that I went back to the classroom.
I loved the job, though, and I wish I could do it again--with another principal, of course.

ImplementingTheDennisSystem · 13/05/2022 19:27

I'd be a veterinary nurse (definitely not a vet) and work 4 days a week.
I currently work in business development for a law firm and would have to pay £30k for the degree, plus cover my mortgage and bills for 3 years while I train, so it's a no-go I'm afraid.

Ponderingwindow · 13/05/2022 19:27

Custom cosplay maker

Octopup · 13/05/2022 19:31

play worker

Onwards22 · 13/05/2022 19:33

I’d be a lawyer and work for those on lower incomes.
I’d use my lotto win to have a cleaner and chef etc so I can train and work without all of those extra bits which is what I find hardest.

Id also love a rescue centre that can house animals forever if needed and a children’s home.

Lolapusht · 13/05/2022 19:34

Gardener 💐🌸🌿🌹🌺

SaggyBlinders · 13/05/2022 19:37

I'd go back to uni to do a law degree part time, train to be a yoga teacher. Just need to win the lottery and I've got it all planned.
