To be content to be boring?

I prefer tea to alcohol.

Watching TV to going out.

A nice meal at reasonable time.

Jigsaws over beer pong.

A cuddle over three hour animalistic rampant satisfying sex.

A one to one chat at a quiet table in a corner than loud big group chatter.

Never. Ever. Ever Fancy dress.

Watching a sunset quietly rather than bingo bongo.

I'm vanilla and Proud.

Anyone else?

Come join my humdrum harem.

some of friends are not happy unless they have every day crammed with places to go!

I partied well into my 30’s every week, out all night, rough sun & work mon…

now I just love my easy, simple life of pottering, if I have to go on a night out I just don’t look forward to it! Love being at home or in the garden with my DD & Dog💕

allboysherebutme · 12/05/2022 22:54

Me too and I love it, in bed and the moment on mums net and listening to my book on Audible and there's no were else I'd rather be.
I don't drink or go out either, we could be sisters lol.
Do what makes you happy, I used to be a people pleaser not anymore, now I please myself. X

HRTQueen · 12/05/2022 23:04

Please can I join your club

Im happy doing very little

im in bed with a cup of tea, a little bit of chocolate and on MN and will soon read my book and I feel relaxed and happy

i don’t worry I might be missing out or feel i want to impress anyone and I’m far more content than I ever was

Mercedesbenz2022 · 12/05/2022 23:07

@CloudPine
😂

Abracadabra12345 · 12/05/2022 23:19

Wow 😮 This is eye opening

CrunchyCarrot · 12/05/2022 23:27

Yep, vanilla and proud here, too! Nothing better than curling up in bed with a good book, watching a glorious sunset, snuggling with my kitties and DP, or just chilling watching videos, or pottering in the garden.

zeddybrek · 12/05/2022 23:45

Me too me too!

I love going to bed early with a book. Or a relaxing bath. Spent years going out and now the thought of a loud night club gives me a headache. I was always eating out but now can't even be bothered with that. A nice takeaway on the sofa is more satisfying.

Mummymummam · 13/05/2022 00:00

Me too! But I do love fancy dress :)

FarmGirl78 · 13/05/2022 00:18

Boring is seriously underrated!! I can highly recommend it, I love being boring!

BuckingFore · 13/05/2022 10:41

Lovrly to see I'm not alone in my mundanity!

Welcome all, kettle's on!

come and be bland as a feck.

Not to stress the point, but I've only got decaf.

Mystery2345 · 13/05/2022 11:15

the thing is, what you describe to me is not "boring" - quite the opposite

I am in!

PostItNoteScribbles · 13/05/2022 11:19

Sounds perfect

saltnvinegarlover · 13/05/2022 11:39

I am joining in as well 😁 dread night outs and love an early night with my Mumsnet

@saltnvinegarlover

why do you dread nights out?

SleeplessInEngland · 13/05/2022 11:46

I know this is a lighthearted thread but the things listed in the OP aren't inherently boring.

FilthyforFirth · 13/05/2022 11:48

I'm half in half out! I love a lot of the things you mention and the older I get the less I can be arsed going out. I genuinely go to bed around 8pm most nights... My pjs are my fave clothes and I love reading in the bath.

However, I do enjoy these novelty bars that are around every now and then. Flight club etc. I dont mind some daytime drinking and some communal game playing! So long as I am home well in time for bed!

Thepeopleversuswork · 13/05/2022 11:48

Sometimes. And the older I get the more I appreciate being content rather than being excited.

But there's a restless side of me that seeks stimulation and I would be pretty bored if I never did anything else.

Mally100 · 13/05/2022 11:58

I'm with you!! Sound Like my kind of ideas of 'fun'. 😁

SquigglePigs · 13/05/2022 12:02

Me too! Although I have to stop the tea after lunch or I don't sleep. I am partial to a nice glass of wine or g&t though - just not anywhere loud!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 13/05/2022 12:02

bellac11 · 12/05/2022 20:13

Me too. Theres not enough celebration of the mundane.

Definitely 😊

PurassicJark · 13/05/2022 12:05

Yep me too. Get called a killjoy and boring a lot by family. But we just have to do as we're told don't we and do the stuff the outgoing people like. I didn't enjoy my own hen do because it was set up for what everyone else liked, not me.

I'm very good at lying though and pretending I'm enjoying something when I'm not. It's literally the only way to get through it because they won't let you do it any other way.

PBJTime · 13/05/2022 12:15

Definitely not boring!

I'm the same. The idea of going out to the pub or a club or a party fills me with dread. Grin

I'd rather be in bed by 8pm!

Youseethethingis1 · 13/05/2022 12:22

I don't know, I think drunks who routinely engage in 3 hour sex sessions (then make sure you know about it) and can't hold a proper conversation one on one are likely to be quite dull.
I don't think you sound boring at all!
