I prefer tea to alcohol.

Watching TV to going out.

A nice meal at reasonable time.

Jigsaws over beer pong.

A cuddle over three hour animalistic rampant satisfying sex.

A one to one chat at a quiet table in a corner than loud big group chatter.

Never. Ever. Ever Fancy dress.

Watching a sunset quietly rather than bingo bongo.

I'm vanilla and Proud.

Anyone else?

Come join my humdrum harem.

I’ve found my people!
Had my semi-wild days in my late teens early 20s but it didn’t make me happy. Nothing too crazy just a lot of booze and nights out and shallow friendships.
Now I am in heaven just lying in bed next to my DH. Which sounds so lame!

Greenfrog78 · 12/05/2022 20:36

I urge you all to buy a Mark's and Spencer fluffy dressing gown best buy for cosy nights watching tv or reading books!!!!

Supersee · 12/05/2022 20:42

Yes! Though I've had my fair share of crazy nights (and still do) I always felt like I was acting, and more often than not found myself slipping off home and being 'boring'.

Since the big 4-0, I've researched a lot (I thought I was possible ASD or something) I think I'm just a big boring introvert, and I'm embracing it!

gluenotsoup · 12/05/2022 21:00

Definitely found my people - I’m sitting her in my fluffy dressing gown 😂
I’ve also become more private, if that was possible, and not as keen on visitors as I used to be, my home is definitely my sanctuary.

lettherebelists · 12/05/2022 21:02

I’m the same and always have been! Yes to all of those things on your list.
I love hot baths with a good book, hot chocolate and an evening cross stitching,

coodawoodashooda · 12/05/2022 21:03

Definitely

stayathomer · 12/05/2022 21:05

I work in a bookshop and when people buy a book, a magazine and a packet of malteasers, I'm like 'best night ever!!' and they're thrilled, but I mean it!! Oh and tea, pjs and a book over nearly everything!!

ssd · 12/05/2022 21:06

Oh god yes.

DogsAndGin · 12/05/2022 21:09

Oh yes, count me in! Jigsaws, walks, blankets, quizzes, books, early nights, dressing gowns, silence. I’m considering buying some cross-stitching sets.

FabulousFlamingo · 12/05/2022 21:09

Big boring introvert here too! But I LOVE being me and wouldn't want it any other way. Tea, walks, books, good chats, early nights and audiobooks are my passions in life :)

MangyInseam · 12/05/2022 21:10

Yes, this is me a lot of the time. Though I am not all that cuddly. I am not keen on three hour shag-fests either, it's just too much, these days I really just prefer a mid-day quickie.

megaz · 12/05/2022 21:12

That sounds perfect to me!

LakieLady · 12/05/2022 21:18

I look forward to an early night with a good book more than any party.

Fairislefandango · 12/05/2022 21:20

Yep, definitely. Except the jigsaws.

CloudPine · 12/05/2022 21:24

Mercedesbenz2022 · 12/05/2022 20:12

I’m with you all ..
big knickers instead of scratchy skimpies
I have no fear of missing out ( fomo ) , in fact I love it

FOBI.

Fear of being included. 😁

dottymac · 12/05/2022 21:24

Me too - bra off, comfies on straight after the school run at 4pm. There's no going back for me now and I'm very content with that, thank you very much 👌

ILoveAllRainbowsx · 12/05/2022 21:25

Me too. I don't care what anyone else thinks at all.

KangarooKenny · 12/05/2022 21:26

There’s nothing l like better than a bath/shower after tea, PJ’s on, and feet up on the couch scrolling the internet while watching TV. In bed at 10pm with a quick read, and off to sleep.

AlisonDonut · 12/05/2022 21:29

Being boring is a highly honed skill I'll have you know...I've spent the last 20 years perfecting it so that I could take early retirement.

RubyEmma212121 · 12/05/2022 21:32

Since having my dc who are both under 2 I can count in 1 hand how many drinks I've had in 3 years and I believe me I used to be a party girl.

Now I thoroughly enjoy my books, my podcasts, my TV shows, my comfys, my hotel chocolat velvetiser, snuggles.

I remember always calling my parents boring and never understanding.. now I GET IT.

I used to drink and party a lot I think to numb the emptiness in my life now I have my hubby and dc I don't need to anymore. My life may be simple and less social but I'm so content.

I always found big nights out a lot of pressure, catty and unfulfilling. Now I don't need to do them anymore and I love it!!!!

Crucible · 12/05/2022 21:34

Happily dull and boring. I love jigsaws, pyjamas, cooking, tea, warmth, quiet, sleep. Radio 3.

When people have to keep going, socialising, adventuring, good on you - I'm not joining in. My daily highlight is my dog walk. It is balm for the soul. Vanilla is an excellent, and complex flavour. Thoroughly underrated.

Sarah13xx · 12/05/2022 21:37

Omg yes! In my early 20s I felt I ‘had’ to be out every weekend, away holidays to Ibiza, staying out til late and going to peoples houses after. Now if I’m out and someone suggests going to someone’s house after I will do ANYTHING not to go! I have a bath for an hour every single night with a cup of tea (aged 30) then get my jammies on and I’m not ashamed to say it’s my favourite time of day

Crucible · 12/05/2022 21:41

... Can i add that there is not enough celebration of ordinary people just getting on with the day, without hurting anyone? We're the volunteers, the people who have a tissue and a shoulder to cry on, a clean loo to use, sound calm advice, know how to make a birthday cake. All us average Joe's and Josephine's who the world quietly needs
I'll go and start an audio book in honour of all those lovely folks on this thread.

bakewellbride · 12/05/2022 21:43

Count me in! I love the library and haven't touched a drop of alcohol since January 2017!

TulipCat · 12/05/2022 21:47

Well I'm definitely with you on the fancy dress. I loathe fancy dress parties and judge people over 30 who still host them 😂😂😂
