please help.

so I had a new sexual partner two days ago and we also had sex last night. I was daft and we didn’t use a condom but he assured me he was all clean and checked. Today I’ve found a sore lump basically on the lips TMI sorry. It’s not painful but is quite sore. I’m pretty sure I’ve had one of those before when I wasn’t with anybody and It went away. I did shave. Could it be from shaving or something else. I’m so worried !

Sounds like a bartholin’s cyst to me. They are usually not painful but can get sore from friction. I’ve had them a few times and they went away after a few days. Always good to get it checked out though!

Whilst you're getting the Mumsnet unprotected-sex debrief, given it's been 3 years, have you also sorted appropriate contraception, OP?

Herpes wouldn’t come out in 24 hours

it can take up to 10 years to come out! So don’t let people scare you about that

herpes will also look like a blister and you’d have flu like symptoms. It doesn’t sound like that at all

I’d get checked for sure. But I imagine it’s probably an ingrowing hair

Thank you everyone. Just to update I’ve spoken to my gp and she said it sounds like a boil and has prescribed me antibiotics. She says if the antibiotics doesn’t clear to call back so they can have a look at it. I will still attend sexual health screening next week.

Just to update I am pleased to say it’s shrunk and is a lot less sore after using the cream.

Probably long shot but I had a small flat lump in a similar location and it was a benign atypical cyst. It was sore after sex but fine otherwise. I’d had it for a while but not really noticed it at all until I had sex. GYN thought it was caused by a blocked gland.
