Warning the entire group (nearly 100 members) about a police speed trap near a school? I live in a small town that has a disproportionately high number of schools - 4 in total. Basically half the town is school buildings. There is a 30mph limit that goes to a 20mph as you go past the school. Someone has just alerted everyone that there’s a police trap there at the moment which I think is bloody irresponsible of them - if people are speeding past a school then they should be caught and hopefully they will take the option of a speed awareness course and be educated on how dangerous even slight speeding is if you hit a child. If they aren’t then they don’t need to be told about a speed trap! AIBU?

The police sometimes post on our local Facebook page to say they are in the area that day and they hope everyone will keep to the correct speed. So they actually warn us as they want to be a deterrent.

I saw a police officer stood in my village with a speed gun last week. I would do that job for free!

Many people do….
