Treated ourselves to a carry out last night. It’s rare occurrence these days due to money being tight . Ordered more than we could eat in one night so a portion of fried rice and another portion of bean curd were put in the fridge. I just came downstairs and he’s eating it ALL. It looked like a very large portion of food for one person so I thought we would share. I expressed my mild annoyance and his response was ‘didn’t think you’d want any’. Dunno why he’d think that. I know it’s not important in the grand scheme of things but AIBU to think he’s a greedy bastard or am I just being moody?

If reheated rice is so dangerous why can you buy ready meals with previously cooked rice or those rice pouches?
Genuinely interested, I eat reheated rice regularly, I'm not dead but I also pay scant attention to use by dates and just sniff things, so I'm not a reliable judge of these things.

Not just tofu! Deep fried tofu with a crispy outer layer seasoned with special spices.. Literally impossible to make at home unless you have a deep fat fryer and my absolute favourite food.

It's not the reheating per se, it's leaving cooked rice out for lengthy periods before putting it away. It can also go bad in the fridge if left for longer than a couple of days. I imagine the ready made stuff is flash frozen and then sealed so let likely to go mouldy. And no, the sniff test isn't enough although I admit I use it myself.

OP- totally infuriating. Second the pp who suggest ordering another portion just for yourself.

He normally walks the dog on his lunch break (wfh). He actually asked me to walk her today as he wanted a break. The dog walker took her yesterday but apparently ‘that doesn’t count’. So he enjoyed a leisurely lunch break with leftover Chinese 😃 while I went walking with ddog and a grumpy one year old (teething). Annoying.

But I told him it was thoughtless and he’s said leftovers are all mine next time so I will make sure to hold him to it 😂 What can I say? I love my bean curd..

Sorry but I’m with the fella. It’s every man or woman for themselves when it comes to leftover chinese. I am a creeping-downstairs-ninja when there’s a prawn cracker breakfast up for grabs. It’s not in your wedding vows that you have to share leftovers, so woman up and move faster goddammit!
