DH just had all the leftover Chinese to himself!

Treated ourselves to a carry out last night. It’s rare occurrence these days due to money being tight . Ordered more than we could eat in one night so a portion of fried rice and another portion of bean curd were put in the fridge. I just came downstairs and he’s eating it ALL. It looked like a very large portion of food for one person so I thought we would share. I expressed my mild annoyance and his response was ‘didn’t think you’d want any’. Dunno why he’d think that. I know it’s not important in the grand scheme of things but AIBU to think he’s a greedy bastard or am I just being moody?

My dh does this and it makes me really cross. And always with the same excuse of "well I didn't think you'd want any". He also prepares himself lunch without asking myself or our dc (8 and 4 years old) whether we would like any. And then when I ask why he hasn't made lunch for anyone else he says "I didn't think any of you were hungry yet". It's just really crappy behaviour. Really thoughtless and lazy and greedy.

I've eaten week old rice and never had any issues. I really hope you've not been throwing away day old rice because of this!

"I didn't think" should be your catch phrase for the next month eg leave his laundry and when he asks why "I didn't think you'd want me to do it". Don't buy his favourite snacks when doing this week's shop "I didn't think you'd want them" etc etc.

Is he often that selfish? You definitely need to think of something you can not think about by way of returning the sentiment.

Very simple, go buy a takeaway pizza, fish and chips or kebab etc. only a potion for one. eat it and exclaim...well I didn't think about you. make sure you eat it before he can claim half, even if you need to eat it in the car down the road. (bring the wrapper in obviously) selfish fucker.

I diagnose him with penis. Its quite a common affliction, the most well known symptoms are greed, laziness and selfishness.

I wouldn't be bothered about rice & tofu, but I'd be mad if DH had finished the meat & veg that I was planning for lunch.

Both are crap.

I completely agree with this.

It's the sheer disregard for the other person that actually makes this a big deal for me!

Unless we had specifically agreed to have it for tea the next day either one of us may have decided to eat it up. I honestly can't see he's done anything wrong.
