Kim Kardashian WAS behind her sex tape release afterall

This one's a pondering post.

So apparently RayJ has now come forward to say that the rumours are true. Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner orchestrated the release of her sex tape with Vivid.

He's in the press today saying that about 5 years after they made these sex tapes, upon seeing how Paris Hilton used hers to boost her fame, they agreed to do the same and Kris Jenner worked with Vivid on a deal.

Now this has been an accepted understanding the whole time, but now that RayJ has publicly "confirmed" it what do people think?

Personally, I don't know what to make of it. Clearly Kim and Kris were seeking fame, and they've done very well for themselves off the back of it. Infact the whole family has. But was that the best way they could think of?

Do you reckon they just sought to exploit an opportunity that landed in their lap? Or planned the whole thing?

Having people pay to watch you having sex is basically the same as being a porn star right? So should we be judging her for what she did?

Or should we be applauding her for being exceptionally clever?

Or is it scary and creepy that these people were so desperate for fame that they've colluded to go about it this way? Especially Kris (her mother)?

Do you really think KK has a lot of free time? She's a business woman with fingers in more pies you can think of. She apparently works out at 5am. Do you really think she would if she has lots of free time? I bet she works longer hours than we do - even if working in her case could be acting for the cameras.

I'm not siding with her on anything, but to say she must have lots of free time makes this poster sound like they don't understand how running businesses (even if that is your personal brand) works.

You do know that she is just a puppet and a face for products right? She doesn't actually design clothes, she picks a colour she fancies. She doesn't create a perfume, probably at best gives it a name and approves the smell. She is just used to endorse a product, but none of them are her creations. It's her name on them. The 'decisions' she makes would take an accomplished business person about half an hour to decide on them all then get on with proper work. She takes an entire day to decide that stuff. And in between 'working', takes her kid horse riding. I don't know of many business people running several businesses who could actually stop work in the middle of a day to go horse riding. Oh and filming a reality TV show of course...

That is all her own words too by the way. Look up what she says she does in a typical day. It's amazing how much money they make on doing very little.

Sounds like a very risky strategy to do it deliberately unless they thought it would get out anyway at some point.

@PurassicJark Even smelling ready-made fragrances to pick which one she wants to put her name to, or reviewing dresses to wear to an event, or choosing what makeup to wear to an interview, or meeting up with advisors about all sorts of stuff. That takes time. What she says she does in a day was probably scripted; I doubt it's the truth. And just because of a few pictures of her with her kid riding, doesn't mean she goes to every lesson. All I'm saying is I'm sure she is much, much busier than most people on this thread think.

She must spend a lot of time working out, tanning, getting waxed, having hair done etc surely? I very much doubt she chooses her own clothes and makeup her stylist would do that (i would hope she could veto mind you!)

how many perfumes is she releasing that it takes her all that time to smell them? I’d think most of her time is spent on her appearance. Although tbh I’ve no idea as I don’t read a lot just look at he pictures of her so I could be talking out a hole in my head 😂

Well no, not really. There are plenty of different types of smarts, tempered or not by individual scruples. Acknowledging that actually yes, they’ve been quite clever to leverage the initial sex tape publicity into worldwide, lasting, fame (when many have tried and failed) isn’t taking anything away from anyone else.

If anyone ‘actually clever’ (presumably you mean ‘academic’) is offended by that, then they really need to work on their fortitude.

It is utterly revolting that a mother would send pornographic videos of her own daughter out to the world, for money. It’s the very definition is dystopia. A mother pimping out her daughter. It is not in any way ‘clever,’ it is barbaric abuse of women. Again.

Famous for fuc#ing and talentless at everything else! It's hardly what you'd want to be recognised or remembered in history for.
I can't believe people are actually so interested in a family that display no endearing qualities or intellectual sense.

I don't think it's clever...its lowest common denominator, race to the bottom stuff. How low can you go to make a buck? I'd never want any of their money or fame if I had to sell out like that. It's not so much clever as a willingness to just do whatever it takes, including selling ones dignity, to become successful/famous/rich/infamous/whatever.

Acknowledging smarts when it comes to self promotion and being able to ride the zeitgeist is a different thing to passing commentary on the morality of it Two quite separate concepts.

I don’t like the Kardashians any more than I dislike them. I don’t know them, and I don’t care about them. All I will say is that their success is self evident whether any onlookers approve or not.
